Dell vs Dell: The short version of the story is here
and it's been going on quite some time. Paul Dell had the audacity to register dellwebsites.com in 2001. Since then, Dell (you know, that huge computer company) have been trying to stop him using that domain.

The most horrific car crash you'll ever see

Drunken Tree Gets Axe
The Stanford Tree has been fired for drinking on the job. Yes. You read that right. Stanford University, here in the ever-puzzling Bay Area, has a mascot, The Tree, and the woman inside the tree suit was found to be drinking at a basketball game, and subsequently tested to have a .15 blood acohol level. Just another entry in the long-running rivalry between Cal and Stanford.

The song was somehow like dadadada-dadadada. Got it??
Tap a song with the spacebar and this website will figure out which song it was. It worked well with "Jingle Bell's", "Yesterday" and "A Hard Day's Night".

Curious George: Mac OS X error -10810
Since MoFi lately has embraced Mac tech support, I thought I might try my luck here too... I am finding that after a while I cannot launch any new apps... sometimes quitting one of the open apps allows me to open another, but more often than not, I just get an error -10810 when I try to open the new application. I'm using a dual 2.0 G5, and upgrading from 10.4.4 to 10.4.5 made no difference. I did some googling and all I found was a suggestion to repair permissions from my install dvd-- did that with no effect. Nothing on apple's boards either. Logging out or rebooting cures it for a while, but the problem keeps coming back. I would be grateful for any help or suggestions.

Oil Execs Formed US Energy Policy
, something that was long suspected and denied (but not under oath). In fact, the Oil Cartels are doing a heckuva job, with Exxon in particular making the highest record profits of any company ever in the history of the world.
The POTUS is concerned however, saying "Here we have a serious problem: America is addicted to oil" but don't worry. He'll give them 7 Billion to think about what they've done.

Let the Eagle soar...
Our favourite ski-jumper (allright, the only one I can even name), Eddie the Eagle, talks a bit with the ceeb about what he's been up to lately.
Okay, it's juvenile.
It's not new, hot, topical, or anything. I just find this to be a very funny book cover.

Slime control
- What's bright yellow, slimy, several metres in diameter, hides in dark, moist, humid places, responds to food sources by moving towards and engulfing them? Oh! and has just been given six legs by engineers. Physarum polycephalum
