Frog Hospital Croaks
Australia's frog hospital is closing. Possibly the only frog hospital in the world, it played an important role as frogs are indicators of environmental health.
Of course, some of those chazzwazzers aren't very welcome in Australia anyway...
So we're left wondering: Who Will Run the Frog Hospital now?
Wagner: genius, anti-semite, cross-dresser.
A new biography of Richard Wagner by Joachim Köhler paints a picture of a deeply emotionally broken human being, a user, a paranoid; moulded by parental neglect into a romantic with an inability, perhaps, to truly love anyone but himself and his music. Literature. An article from The New Criterion.

Curious George - deals on ibooks?
Hola Monos!
I've been lugging my G5 desktop and cinema screen monitor every other week into work where I do video graphics for a television show. I NEED to get a laptop and can use all the processing power that I can get for around $1200 bucks more or less which is what I am getting back from my tax return. I've shopped on ebay and am hoping for a deal to come my way, but am also looking for a deal on new machines. Does anyone have any ideas on mac deals? BTW, I am a confirmed mac user so any windows machines are out of the question.
Thanks ahead of time for your help.

Mars Attacks!
with some disturbingly gruesome trading cards.
While watching Santa with Muscles, starring Hulk Hogan, I spied this.
It is posted, appropriately to the is_it_gay community. And I have to ask, is it?

Now, where did I put the very dirtiest parts of last week's TV?
Oh, yeah: at parentstv.org, home to those fundie censorship warriors who crank out carbon-copy complaint letters to the FCC. Why, they'd be sure to wipe out obscenity if they'd start putting together a nightly half-hour highlight reel of all the dirtiest, crudest, nudest stuff on TV. With RSS and Bittorent. (Uh, NSFW, if watching a man cram a woman into his ass on South Park isn't S at your W)
And Fortran Begat IAL.
To nerds like me, this poster of programming evolution is quite possibly the most fascinating flowchart ever created. It was inspired by this chart, which was designed by Eric Levenez.

Michael Crichton is a moron
- Even if our civilization stops burning fossil fuels immediately, the damage already done will continue to increase global warming for the next 100 years - at least.
That's the conclusion of two studies appearing in the latest issue of the journal Science.

80's music nostalgia wave!
Duran Duran's new album was only the beginning. Billy Idol's new CD is upon us, while New Order's new album is almost here too. Mötley Crüe, meanwhile, are working on their new CD, as are Kate Bush and Bruce Springsteen; even Paula Abdul is planning a comeback. If Duran Duran can do it, anyone can! Right? Let's hope so.
