• To date, there have been 49 emails over the past couple of weeks planning this meetup. Does this sound good? My only request is that it be some place not too far from home (like no more than a 1/2 hour bus ride) because I have to skedaddle in time to meet my sister and brother in law who fly in later that night. cellarfloor: hmmm, I'm busy tonight, but thanks for the invite! Who's going to the mefi santa monica meetup? mandyman: Oh fuck, I meant to specify two weeks from today. So it would be the 24th. • Sorry, I cant make it, as I will be rehearsing. Rehearsing what, you ask? Why that's a perfect set-up for my meetup opportunity/self-plug of my sketch comedy show! I have schilled these shows before, but this time you get to see me act. The funny part is, I'm not really an actor, yet somehow I got all the silly character parts, so it should be interesting. So please come check it out, it's a new show, and we need an audience. It's totally free (except parking) and there's a full bar. And I will even go so far as to buy any Monkey who attends a free cheap beer! The lowdown: "The Sketches" is a new sketch comedy show, debuting at Improv Olympic this Saturday, 3/26 at midnight. Improv Olympic is at 6366 Hollywood Blvd., just east of Cahuenga, next to Star Shoes. (www.iowest.com) I would reccomend getting there early as parking is not easy at that hour- if the valet is full (as it always is) try the gated lot on the West side of Vine, 1/2 block south of Hollywood- it tends to be the most affordable.
