Bzuh??
Is this good thing or bad thing? Because at first it looks like Extra Super Greedy Evil Expoitation Supreme, but then you read further and it looks like they're providing goods at drastically reduced prices, and creating jobs for the poor. We can't blame corporations for wanting to tap new markets, but is this beyond the pale? Will this benefit more than a handful of poor people?

Keep your lolcat off your keyboard!
PawSense detects when your cat is trying to send lolCode messages to other kitties, and uses INVISIBLE HIGH-PITCHED NOISES to deter them.
How can a software utility know if a cat is on my computer? A: If you carefully measure cat paws, you will find that practically all cat paws are significantly larger than a typical keyboard key.more inside

LOLfeeds
Riding the crest of the shark-jumping wave of lolkitty mania is LOLfeeds; featuring pictures of cute fluffy kittens labeled with up-to-the-minute captions from CNN, the Beeb, Boing Boing and our sister station Mefi. My personal favorites, though, are the personal ads from Craigslist; some of which are eerily appropriate. Post yer faves here.

The Crazy Dave Tapes
Absolutely NOT SAFE FOR WORK... Presuming you work around people who may be offended by profanity, violence, screaming, loud noises, men in pig masks and diapers simulating copulation with cardboard cutouts of Dolly Parton, grotesqueries, misogyny, misanthropy, masturbation, gross out humor, rock and roll, deformity, flashing lights, pointlessness, bigfoot wrestling a grizzly bear or partial nudity. more inside

Gary Parker takes portraits of people, some of them quite special.
I stumbled on the Little People Galleries, and found the photos wonderful in their treatment of the subjects, their bonds with family and others, and in the case of Brad Jordan, the breaking of bonds with the earth.

Performance artist and activist Mark McGowan ate a corgi last night.
He was protesting a January hunt where Prince Phillip apparently beat a fox to death with a stick and kicked it. I don't see the connection, personally. The RSPCA found that the fox did not suffer unnecessarily, but McGowan is presumably claiming favouritism toward the Royals.
Wine scandal leaves Sausalito with a bad taste.
Report on the arson cited in the article here.
Curious George: music recommendations by genre:
Is there a good site to ask real people for music recommendations, or might I pick the brains of monkeyfilter? I have been wanting to stretch out my listening lately, but I'm disatisfied with many of the usual community-music recommending sites.

Citing Frustration With Peace Groups and Politics, Cindy Sheehan Goes Home
In a piece posted to Daily Kos, the famous Anti-war Mom declares,
The most devastating conclusion that I reached this morning, however, was that Casey did indeed die for nothing. . . I have tried every since he died to make his sacrifice meaningful. Casey died for a country which cares more about who will be the next American Idol than how many people will be killed in the next few months while Democrats and Republicans play politics with human lives.
