Truth, fiction and Lou Dobbs.

  • the Dobbs "defesne' for the mistake is plain stupid and arrogant. Not the sort of thing he is usually associated with. Worse, though, he has yet to admit that he screwed up and then move on ...My problem with Dobbs is that he is against illegals in the country but offers no sugestion as to how the govt can round up some 12 million of them and ship them out and in the process proect the rights of citizens, that is, you see a guy you think is illegals. You can not demand idenfication papers.So what would he do?
  • You don't understand postroad,,we have no rights. Look what happened in Colorado on Memorial Day. The State Patrol said it issued 3,033 seat-belt citations and 6,651 speeding tickets, and pulled over 30,045 vehicles. That was in 72 hours?? That's 417 vehicles an hour. This is comparable to a military exercise. I'm shocked about this, and there has been no coverage other than the local media. But what I'm getting at is evidently they pulled over 20,000 vehicles that involved no violations. How long before, as Ross Perot wanted to do, they perform house to house searches for violators of the law. It has arrived
  • I'm starting to be concerned about my own status here as an American citizen. Possibly my Scottish and English ancestors arrived here in defiance of a government (tho the government laws then would have been Britain's). And my French ancestors - did they emigrate when France was a friend? I have a very clear notion of the status of my Native American or Indian ancestors - they were supposed to die if they didn't give up land (yes, I know this is ridiculously reductive, but jeez, reductive is the rhetoric du jour with such as this guy). However, my Guatemalen forebears - my great-grandma and her four sons? Protected by diplomatic immunity, according to family history, due to my great-grandfather's somewhat exalted status in one or both governments. Re: leprosy. It's true I have psoriasis and am descended mostly from immigrants. Run away! Run away!

"Hey, Lou, what's with the white supremacists and the weird conspiracy theories about Mexican military incursions?" "You've raised this to a level that frankly I find offensive." Note the wording in that last. You've raised it to a level I find offensive.

  • You know, I've actually never seen or heard Lou Dobbs. I just read the unfogged commentary and the link above. But it seems he hates my family 'cause we're less than 100% white, so I'll play along and hate him too. In fact, was that motherfucker there in the 1600s when my Quaker ancestors tried to get away from certain prescriptive religionists? Bet he was. Bet he was there with repressive bells on.
