Wierd. Just wierd. This is perhaps the oddest news story I've ever read: A man found wandering the streets in Kent in a soaking wet suit has not said a word for over a month. But he turns out to be a virtuoso classical pianist. A telephone helpline to try and identify him has received hundreds of calls. (via Boing Boing)

Curious George: Paypal Alternatives There have been a few previous threads about PayPal's various sucking ways, but none of them revealed any better alternatives. Have any monkeys found ways of making online credit card transactions, for non-physical goods, that don't leave them wide open to fraudulent charge reversals? [More inside] more inside

Curious George - Music for a doc on women in the military I am cutting a promotional video that will be used to sell and raise money for a documentary I am working on, the topic of which is women and their changing roles in the military. The primary focus of the doc will be the women of WWII with the formation of the WACs, WAVs, etc... The music could be as specific as period recordings about women in the military, or as broad as a good patriotic march, period or modern. Also, this is not a pro-war doc, per se, but it is pro-military and looks at the military experience from feminist perspective. Any suggestions would be welcome.
Cameron Diaz at the Reebok Human Rights Awards: "Brutalized, attacked, imprisoned and tortured by the Mexican military, the Mixe found themselves without a voice," Cameron read. Then, looking up at the audience, puppy dog eyes wide, she ad libbed, "I think we all know what that feels like, right guys?" From the back of the auditorium came the response, "I want to do you, Cameron!" She smiled and waved. "You guys are so awesome!"
The top 50 things every foodie should do 50) Go for a pee at Felix. "Felix, at Hong Kong's Peninsula hotel is simply the place to go for an after-dinner pee... designing the lavatories was clearly what interested Philippe Starck the most. The men's room has a floor to ceiling glass wall offering dazzling views of the Kowloon skyline with an all-glass urinal ranged along it, for an authentic master-of-the-universe experience." Shake twice, gents. If I get to a fourth of these, I will consider myself exquisitely fed.
Penguin in the Pew is possibly one of the most important books in the Christian community today. Not only does it introduce the church office staff to free and open source software, it raises questions about software licenses that every Christian needs to answer. Whether you are a technologist, the Pastor, or a Christian in the pew, you need to be aware of the freedom you stand to lose when you choose the software you will run.
