The new Beastie Boys album automaticallty installs copy protection software.
Apparently this is becoming more common. And people are pissed. As if I needed one more reason not to buy commercial CDs anymore.
Fucking for a living, and then some....
This is one of my favourite blogs, if only it was updated more frequently I might have a sex life. ;-) Check out her archives and such. Ah, the vagaries of the publishing business when you are restricted to being an anonymous whore. Writing a book is maybe harder than sucking dick. On a long-term basis, that is.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwww.....

Blogs. My favorite medium.
Their authors, readership, the entire phenomenon... and our fanaticism and obsession that drives us to keep posting and come back for more each day.

Curious George: flute music
My sister is getting married in October and has a friend who she'd like to play the flute as the bride walks down the aisle. Said sister has very simple, mainstream musical tastes and would like the flaustist to play something most people will recognise; that is, popular music as opposed to classical. Does anyone have any suggestions for appropriate music that would sound good on the flute?

Media bias in reporting the Middle East
At risk of turning this place into Observer/Guardianfilter ... I thought this was an interesting and brave article about media bias in reporting the Israel/Palestine conflict.

Cunt: A Cultural History
- Yes it's that rather rude word, I'm sure you recognise it. But it has a rich and vibrant past that no lover of the English language - indeed, no lover at all - can afford to be unfamiliar with. Also, the Wikipedia entry. Or should I say.. er.. listing. Heh heh.

Spider-Nan?
Pavitr Prabhakar has a secret identitity, he is a licensee of a Marvel Comics property and India's first web-slinging superhero. He gets around by swinging from Mumbai's various monuments (such as the Gateway of India and the Taj Mahal Hotel), bouncing off the roofs of auto-rickshaws and fighting his arch-nemesis, the Green Rakshasa.
One only hopes that Mumbai's skyline is high enough for this transcreation to get off the ground.
Curious George Used book stores
Are they legal? I feel strange buying used books, like the author is not getting any of my money. But not too bad, as I want to unload a bunch of books on them. Any ideas in what I can expect to get in trade or profit?

"It comes to you as a teacher"
He's tried clinics and therapy, Narcotics Anonymous and rehab. He's taken up exercise and gone through reduction cures. He's even given up on giving up. Now, though, Sebastian Horsley thinks he may have found the answer to his lifelong craving for heroin. Only problem is, it's another dangerous drug...
