Cryptogams and the NSA
As an attorney at Human Rights Watch who had worked in Afghanistan and Pakistan, John Sifton knew he was on a short list for NSA surveillance. So he gave the snoopers something to read by emailing himself passages from Joyce’s Finnegans Wake. Not a good idea. "I am afraid that the problematic strain within Islam is not the province of a few extremists.
It has at its heart a view of religion – and of the relationship between religion and politics – that is not compatible with pluralistic, liberal, open-minded societies. At the extreme end of the spectrum are terrorists, but the worldview goes deeper and wider than it is comfortable for us to admit. So, by and large, we don’t admit it." - (byline) Tony Blair was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1997 to 2007. Since leaving office, he has founded the Tony Blair Faith Foundation and the Faith and Globalization Initiative.

Cyriak's latest mind-bender is a music video for Bonobo's song "Cirrus"

Two five-decade-running pop culture franchises
have iconic lead characters who have been played by multiple actors. That discrepancy is directly explained for one, but not the other. But if you look closely, you may see that "Skyfall" provides compelling evidence that James Bond is a Time Lord.

It's been proven scientifically!
Pop music has gotten less varied and more loud over the years. So shut up and let me listen to my oldies station with the Beatles every hour on the half-hour.

Redux Riding Hood
In 1997, animator Steve Moore was given free reign, and the result was a Big Bad Wolf with regrets and a time machine, written by a guy who usually does sitcoms, designed by a guy who had never done animation, with a musical score of improv jazz and some familiar voices, including Adam West, Garrison Keillor, Mia Farrow and Michael Richards as The Wolf. Via Cartoon Brew.
