Former U.S. military commander says elites hide from humanity knowledge and contact with many Extraterrestrial civilizations - and that there are possibly hundreds of cultures visiting Earth. Why do these UFO disclosure people always look like this guy?
Please help me name all the sexual innuendos that appear in this awesome commercial from New Zealand! I've gotten stuck on at least two: the dog in the tub of water? And is that a boar's head with a sword in its mouth? I'm certain I am missing more. (Also, I hope this isn't a double post--I did my best to search for it beforehand.)
Vladimir Putin, you're so dreamy!

Demz Can Has A Bumper Sticker? The DSCC [warning: flash], a group that works to elect Democrats to the Senate, is urging Democrats to vote on its four suggestions -- "or create one of your own by midnight August 27." "We need a turn of phrase that really jumps out and tells you right off the bat what this election is all about," said James Carville in a message to Democrats. Carville is credited with the famous phrase, "It's the Economy, Stupid". In a message to DSCC supporters on Thursday, Carville said sometimes the best ideas come from people outside Washington. "Heck, come up with something good enough, I'll risk my own safety and put it on my wife's car," Carville said. (His wife Mary Matalin is a Republican and a former aide to Vice President Dick Cheney.) But will they have learned their design lesson? more inside

AIDS denial in the Internet era. This denial was highlighted on an international level in 2000, when South African president Thabo Mbeki convened a group of panelists to discuss the cause of AIDS, acknowledging that he remained unconvinced that HIV was the cause...the AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power (ACT UP) was for many years on the front lines of AIDS education and activism. But now a San Francisco chapter of the group has joined the denialist movement...Members of the group “The Foo Fighters” provided music for a soundtrack of the recent documentary, “The Other Side of AIDS”, which questions whether HIV is the cause of AIDS. The band has spread its message that HIV does not cause AIDS at concerts, and it lists the HIV denial group “Alive and Well” as a worthy cause on its Web site...

1950s Science Records For Kids I'm sure some of you monkeys will be magically transported back to your childhood by these recordings from a series of children's albums about topics in science -- Space (naturally), Weather, Energy, and Nature. All the MP3s are directly encoded from the records and include the hiss-and-pop noise that those of us over the age of 25 will immediately recognize. Listen and see if you don't feel a twinge of nostalgia for the simpler days of growing up in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Or, if you're a bit younger than that, you might listen for the influences on contemporary artists like They Might Be Giants, PeeWee Herman, and other retro-obsessed culture.
