Visible Proofs
is an exibition about the history of forensic medicine, including an account of the autopsy of Abraham Lincoln:
...we proceeded to remove the entire brain, when, as I was lifting the latter from the cavity of the skull, suddenly the bullet dropped out through my fingers and fell, breaking the solemn silence of the room with its clatter...

Tom Baker Says...
in the UK there is a new system from BT where SMS text messages can be voiced by Tom Baker. Fucking TOM BAKER, people. This site is about what you can make Tom Baker say. For instance, you can make Tom Baker say 'motherfucker' which I think is astounding, and for me, that proves we really are in the 21st Century and slightly makes up for the lack of flying cars and domed cities on the moon.
Particularly check out the movie quotes section. Also the Tom Bakaraoke.
Warning: contains embedded AUDIO you luddites.
Man walks into police station
and asks for a complaint form. The officers demand ID and respond with intimidation and harassment. Turns out the visitor was from the Police Complaint Center working with a major Miami television station, and it was all caught on tape. The organization's video gallery of police misconduct is well worth a look. (via consumerist)
A Greensboro, NC mother says her daughter was exposed to "A lot of pornography, Goth stuff, linking to voodooism, witchcraft, dark suicidal stuff."
And she's not the only minor or nominal adult to run afoul of parents and authorities recently thanks to MySpace and other blogs. Has online whining journaling become the new violent video game (which was the new Dungeons and Dragons which was the new...etc.)?

"McElwain, you're in!"
The autistic team manager of the Greece, NY, high school basketball team suited up for their final game, and, after never playing in a game before, when he went in for the final four minutes, scored 20 points (six 3-pointers and a 2)! General mayhem and well-deserved adoration for the boy ensues.
Curious George: How long is the "Long Arm of the Law"?
I've heard that when in foreign countries, United States citizens must still follow all United States laws. Is that true?

The world's largest landing craft is offloading now.
The captain of the M/V APL Panama made a mistake on Christmas day, when he did not pick up his pilot. Now his ship is on the beach, and they try, and try, and try, and try to get it off again. Lousy website layout, with great pictures.

Shakespeare death mask reevaluated as genuine.
Which is just the latest act in the ongoing drama as to which portraits are genuine, (me, I prefer the Canadian one, of course). And why should it even matter what Bill looked like? What is his image compared to his words?

Zen Koans
These koans, or parables, were translated into English from a book written late in the thirteenth century by the Japanese Zen teacher Muju (the "non-dweller"), and from anecdotes of Zen monks.
Good stuff, unless you know everything already.
