The Sound of The Universe Being Born
Physicist John Cramer of the University of Washington in Seattle calculates what the universe sounded like in the first 750,000 years of its existence. Then ratchets it up a few hundred thousand times (okay, 100,000 billion billion times) so we can hear it.
"During the 100-second recording, the frequencies fall because the sound waves get stretched as the Universe expands. 'It becomes more of a bass instrument,' says Cramer"

Lucas to Feature Films: You're Dead To Me Now
"We don't want to make movies. We're about to get into television. As far as Lucasfilm is concerned, we've moved away from the feature film thing because it's too expensive and it's too risky."
George says for the $200 million it takes to make a big picktcha, he'd rather make 50 little ones. And, that that's where movies are going.
What do you think?

US Republican-Owned Govenment Allows Torture, Gets Rid of Habeas Corpus
Yes, an agreement to torture prisoners, deny them a hearing, and file it under the subject of "fighting terrorism" is on it's way to being passed. As one wag has it:
"The bill simply removes a suspect’s right to challenge his detention in court. This is a rule of law that goes back to the Magna Carta in 1215. That pretty much leaves the barn door open."
For Fuck's Sake people.

Clinton On "Fox News Sunday"
Fox "News" invites Former President Bill Clinton to talk about his recent Global Initiative conference. Very quickly though, the interviewer uses a variant of the Faux News tactic of "some people say" to blame Clinton for 9/11 ("Why didn't you kill Osama? Why didn't you stop this?")
It's clear from the record that BushCo dropped the ball on anti-terrorism, but this is Fox's job - to obfuscate the facts and make the far right wing look good.
Clinton tells them to STFU.

Mao Removed From History Books
Nearly overnight the country's most prosperous schools have shelved the Marxist template that had dominated standard history texts since the 1950s.
"The new history is less ideological, and that suits the political goals of today."
