Religion Facts - This seems to me to be a pretty good resource for what it is. It alleges it is neutral. There's some pretty good articles to my way of thinking, although it will not satisfy everyone's factual wishes with regards religion. That's a given.

Melvin Vaniman (1866-1912) was an American mechanic, dirigible and plane designer, opera singer and near polar explorer but most famously he pioneered the art of panoramic photography. His fame was established for the most part during his sojourns in Australia and New Zealand. [Some Hawaiian panoramics at Library of Congress (search on Vaniman)]

WWI Image Archive 'EarlyAviator': Large collection concentrating on air-ware. Includes airships, guns, planes, posters/paintings/badges & death photos. The site could use a makeover with thumbs but compensates with content over appearance. [The death section is pretty benign - nothing gruesome to my mind - mostly crash scenes/graves.]

Natural History Illustrations :::Bibliomaniac is as best I can tell, a Japanese site devoted to displaying 19th century natural history book illustrations. The site includes modest collections of insects, animals, flowers, birds and sea creatures among others. They range from the beautiful to the freaky. There are a couple of pages of not quite so natural histories as well.
