Nucular War!
Why didn't anyone tell me that a third part of the people will be killed over a fourth part of the Earth on September 12, 2006? This is information I would have liked to have had, and now I am angry! That leaves me only a little more than two weeks to spend all of my money, charge up my credit cards, and beat the living crap out of people I don't like.

FlyNinjas!
Cricket Ninjas! Insects are being exploited in shocking cock-fighting experiments all over the world in order to provide insights into the behavior of a supposedly "superior" species: Homo sapiens.

Curious George!
I have a two-part question: if anyone here is allergic to cats, have you ever handled a Devon Rex? What was your experience with it?

What's on your desktop?
You've seen this before on Fark (and probably other sites as well); it's nothing new. However, I thought it would be interesting if we shared the virtual environments that many of us work and play in every day. That said, show us your desktop, monkeys! Give us a glance into your private world.

Geneology? LAME! If you really want to see whence you came, you can participate in the Genographic Project, which uses a sample of your DNA to delineate the travels of those who begot you.

Don't you know you're gonna mock the monkey?
Weird Al is a personal favorite of mine, and his version of "You're Beautiful" by James Blunt [W: auto-loading audio] was not approved for release by Blunt's label, so Al's letting you have it for free on his site [mp3].
This reminds me of when Coolio [W: auto-loading audio] got his panties in a wad over how Al treated his very profound "Gangsta's Paradise" with a parody of the Amish lifestyle (which is friggin' genius, if you ask me).

Jesus Christ Superman:
So, yeah, there's this new Superman movie coming out, and in line with the Chronicles of Narnia, the plot seems to be heavily christianized (or gay, as some see it). What gives? And whose idea was it to make another Superman movie without Richard Prior in it?

Formaldehyde and Fido (video):
What is with people who feel the need to have pickled pets? Is this a strange cousin of taxidermy, or a branch of mental illness?

Bits o' lives o' others:
So yeah, I'm a sucker for decent photography, but I'm no expert. However, some nifty slide shows [flash] are too neat to pull away from, and I'm always interested in pics of geologic stuff like the Giant's Causeway (how else do giants get around?).
But this, my friends, is the best photo series you'll see all day: Pug Still Life Series (created by my pal Dave, who works at my favorite kitsch shop, Archie McPhee).

AERIAL PHOTOS AND PICK-CHURS!
If you guys haven't found it yet, those yahoos in Seattle have made a pretty impressive competitor to Google Earth: swing over Vegas, or drop in on Ground Zero; or better yet, go see a man about a brain at Wizard Island. The aerials and "bird's eye" views are nifty.
