Stray Dog Saves Abandoned Baby. Newsfilter, I know, but wtf - it's a modern day Romulus or Remus. The dog carried the baby across the street, put her with its own puppies, and cared for her for two days. I hope someone takes the child - AND the dog - home.

A local Onion clone - but funny! This newspaper from my fair city has been publishing erratically in print for a couple years and it's really pretty good. They seem to actually be updating their website now (huzzah!) so you monkeys can share the giggles. To Bell the Cat? Curious George for cat owning monkeys - help! Remember the rat? This morning it was a bird, quite alive, pretty large, caught & carried inside somehow in the 10 minutes between my opening the pet door for the day and getting dressed. Has anyone ever put a bell on their cat? Did it work? I'm worried that he might hang himself, and I remember a cat we had when I was a kid who would just lose his collar every day until we gave up. Hints, suggestions, commiserations, thoughts?

Gruesome Rat Encounter Freaked Out and Horrified George: There was a RAT in my dining room when I got home last night. The cats had it cornered and were playing with it. The whole thing was beyond horrible and I ended up sweeping it out the front door with a broom, so it seems to be gone, but now I'm all freaked out and don't know what to do next. Are these standard? Curious, George: Car warning dashboard symbols, anyone? I've been googling and I can't find a list of symbols for all cars - in particular, for a 98 Saturn. Do all cars use the same symbols, or not?
