Scopitones!
A Scopitone is a "film jukebox" invented in France (where else?) in the 1960's - Scopitone is also the name for the "videos" played on it. Check out the Scopitone archive.
And if you think Elaine Benes' dancing is awful, check out Neil Sedaka's moves.

"...no no, bad management is not the reason why airlines are going broke, the reason is fat people"
yeah, they've actually said it...and this time, apparently, they have scientific "proof" to back their claims.

John Lydon's Biography
There was a time when I was younger that I thought John Lydon(Johnny Rotten) was everything that was right with music. After visiting his site and reading his bio posted there I now see that he is everything that is wrong with music. His bio reads like an informercial, after reading it you would think the man had cured polio and redefined all music for the last 30 years. Punk's not dead!!! (it's just hiding from johnny)

Best Editorial Cartoonist EVER.
Clay Bennett is the finest editorial cartoonist* working today. He has remarkable skill with icons, and his work always makes me smile. It doesn't hurt that he's a hell of an artist too.

The NOAA POES Satellite
has it on good authority that, living in the right areas (at this moment, North America), you might see the northern lights if you go outside and look up tonight. City lights might be an issue, but I managed to see a few faint streaks twitching in the sky, through Minneapolis/St. Paul's city lights. But hey, even people as far south as Utah can see them, as reported on Spaceweather.com .
Political George
I'm burnt out on the political fighting. Just for today can we make the front page a politics free zone? Post something wonderful instead. There must be some happiness out there you'd like to share that's not related to politics. Have at it.

Curious George: New Cat
Next month I may be obtaining a cat, which will not only be my first cat, but essentially my first pet. What are the pros and cons of indoor versus outdoor? Consider I live in a house with an nice yard (which is easily escapable) which other cats commonly come into. If I were to have an outdoor cat, is there some sort of acceptable time to keep the cat indoors to familiarize itself? Basically, I am asking for any and all advice that could be given to me.
