Settle! Is it really you? I can't believe it! Partly because you told me you were black, @$$#01&.
Okay, only partly kidding. The RISD info checks out, as does the inability to remember your own damn mefi password. Tell you what - send me another copy of the email you sent me after Matt banned you the first time (it was a .jpg, but I have since deleted it myself) and I will be happy to vouch for the Settle-ness of the one now know as ActuallySettle.
Not too many Masons in Monkeyfilter, then?
Take off your tinfoil hats - what these are, are patches for state policemen who happen to be freemasons. Of course, it shouldn't be too surprising that there would be policemen who are masons in each state - freemasonry is, after all, the oldest and largest fraternal order in the world and the most widespread. Masons also provide a great deal of charity (for which they are historically not credited, anonymous giving being sort of a hallmark of the craft), both locally and more widespread - Shriners Hospitals for Burn Victims? They're all Masons. And take a closer look at the local Blood drive, or the sponsor of your local junior high softball team.
Oh yeah, but we do run the world though. Forgot about that little bit.
squidranch: I can't say exactly, but it's interesting to note that kokogiak (the guy behind the original penny site) is a MetaFilter user, as is crunchland, who kind of used the same idea to put together his $87,000,000,000.00 page.
And then, of course, mr_crash-davis did it again with Big Macs, which is much better.
See how it all fits together, now?
I'm confused too, but I still want kool-aid.
Oh, and just wait until some smartass comes up with a "monkeyfilter contribution index" page. You think everything's all lovey-dovey and happy - wait until its quantified, dammit! Then you'll be singing a different tune!
* exits, cackling *
Fascinating and horrifying all at once.
I tend bonsai, some of which will outlive me. I have to freaking think about who I will leave them to after I die, for chrissakes. That's plenty enough immortality for me, thank you very much.
* screeches *
Hey, it seemed like the thing to do. All the cool kids seemed to be doing it. Oh, and

dg, now that I accidentally found BuoyTalk (your masive promotion efforts apparently failed to reach me earlier) I see the same bug happens to me on that site as well - it's probably a glitch in the MetaPhilter templates that the sites use.
And yes, it's still very annoying, because I end up chasing the block of links all the way off the page, and never catching them, and you're all being deprived of my FPPs as a result. Harumph, harumph!
I think at this site, I'll cultivate a more "grumpy yet endearingly curmudgeonish" persona. How am I doing so far?
I see where the yellow line is going in, but when I move the cursor to click on the link (any link!), the whole block jumps about two inches south. Very odd.
Oh, and welcome to the joys of administration, tracicle!
Sicne there's no MonkeyTalk yet, I'll ask here: am I the only user who has the block of links in the upper-right hand corner (first row: "Archives Links Profile" second row: "NewUser Search Post") leap away from their cursor whenever I get it close to the text? It's really giving me a complex - I can't DO anything, because I can't hit any of the jumping links! (unless that's just the way you wanted it, tracicle, in which case it's working very well indeed)
(IE 5.0, 800x600 resolution, if that matters)

Fes?!? The swapinistrator is double-timing us? Well, heck - count me in too. I can burn a few more of my greatest hits from the "other" monkey site.
