Best: Anonymous Valentine Card well...second best to the afore-mentioned winning lottery ticket, of course
Worst: a live Wolf spider crammed into a matchbox (without warning label)
Actual: Florida newpaper clipping - 5% rebate coupon for a senior's motorized scooter
I'm on the 'lost cat' bandwagon, this cat may not recognise the outside of its own house if it normally lives indoors, and is asking for help.. ('miaoooooow??' translates as 'are you my peoples??') I'd put out food/water/cheezburgrs for the cat and stick up posters. you'll eventually be able to catch it to bring it to the SPCA.
BTW I have a v. cool vet friend who is an SPCA vet in Wellington. I can ask him for advice on local facilities if that would help...
Time is a shape/location, for me, always smooth and round in some way... the months especially are either close to me or waaaay over there, on the far side of the year (points into the shadows). Don't think that's synaesthesia though, I always thought it was more to do with being an Imager.
BTW, I am immensely pleased that Monkeyfilter has a flavor.
Bring poop sample to vet. Kittehs come free with their own internal parasites, could be another explanation for the blood.. generally easy to treat!
Also what Hank said; diet changes/new foods are the most common cause of poopy or kitteh poopage problems. And what Huron and Koko said. AND you can ask t'vet about foods as well.
I like the name Cling; just not easy to yell that outside the backdoor at night. Two syllables would seem better.
Very cutey-pie little dilute tabby you got there! wanna swap for a couple of slightly used 3rd-hand cats? kidding. No really.
In general my family's cats have earned their names one way or another... Hector was Hungry old Hector, Freddie was Flash Freddie, Toby sat smiling like a wee Toby Jug. Good cat names I've come across over the years include Trevor (who had 3 legs), Norman (who belonged to a man named Trevor), Jelly, Velcro, Newman(short for Pneumonitis), Tea Leaf (rhyming slang), Mrs Miggins (who ate people), and the fabulous Juicy Lucy (whose cerebellum wasn't all there).
Maybe if your little girl doesn't earn an obvious name for herself in the next month or so, consider naming her after a foodstuff...
But the flip side is that prevention doesn't COST as much as treatment... preventative medicine is good medicine.
My knowledge on cancer is limited to animals. There are a number of cancers definitely caused by viruses (usually retroviruses, like Feline Leukaemia Virus, Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, and Enzootic Bovine Leukosis, which mess directly with DNA); genes do play a huge roll, with certain types or breeds of animal overrepresented for some cancers. In terms of identifying environmental /nutritional causes, I think we're in the dark ages.
The craic has been mighty.
