Oh, man. Puppy chow is like gold around here. Even double batches don't last long around here. Yay, cookie season!

In "How to Make a Goldfish Live for Decades"

Yay! Goldfish! My older sister won a goldfish at our tiny town fair. We named him Al. He lived in our large fish tank with some algae eaters, tetras (I think that's what they were), and one other type of fish we didn't know what they were. For the most part, we did everything the article said to do. He lived around 11 years, got to be nine inches long. He was pure white by time he died and was blind, so we never moved anything around once his eyes started showing cataracts since he would run into things. If you'd tap on the top of the fish tank, he swim to the top. When he could still see, he'd eat out of your hand. Now he's fertilizing the soil underneath a plum tree. RIP Al.

My hubby, books, chilly fall days, snowy days where you're stuck inside the house and can't go anywhere, naps, freshly baked bread, good coffee, good tea, bookstores, my thick fluffy robe, really good ice cream, Christmas lights in a snowfall, office supplies (yes, I get excited over brightly colored sticky notes, nice pens, and colored paper clips), air conditioning.

This is both very fun and very frustrating. I apologize to anyone I end up playing against for I'm not very good at guessing the words.

In "finding lost friends"

This was great. Ah, good times, good times. Field trips were a lot more fun then.....

Late in the game, but I couldn't log in when this was on the front page. One men's XL for me please! Yay!

In "International team to monitor presidential election"

drivingmenuts: "Republicans got an amendment to a foreign aid bill that barred federal funds from being used for the United Nations to monitor U.S. elections" Here's my take on it - impartiality. If they funded the monitoring, people would potentially cry foul if something didn't go right and would then blame the people in charge because they funded it in the first place. But, that's my take from reading only an article. I'd have to read the actual proceedings.

A short discussion of bugmenot is found in a discussion here as well.

I always wanted to cover one whole wall in my living room with them. Sort of a shiny wallpaper deal. Except I don't have the patience to collect them all and put them up.

May I please have one if there's one to spare? Thanks!

I used to believe that puppies came out through the mother's tail. Yes, I firmly believed the tip of the tail split open to allow for a puppy to exit. I also believed that when I was on the toilet, a monster would come out of it unless I started going to the bathroom. Oh, and I also firmly believed that if I got out of bed at night, fingers would come through the floor and start tickling my feet.

In "Curious George: Do you play video/computer games?"

I am hooked on the Sims. I have all the packs for the PC. I got the Gameboy version for my birthday, which I've been playing since then. The Gameboy version is different in that it's much more structured and goal oriented than the PC version. There used to be an online game I adored - Acrophobia. ILTG (I loved that game). I used to play it on IRC, then when one was created with a GUI, I played that one. Then it disappeared. I bought Quake. I installed it. I played it for about a week. And that was the last of that. American McGee's Alice is very.... creepy. As for the influential game - Oregon Trail hands down. That was my first experience with computers. I then went on to write own little mock-up in BASIC when I was 12. And I've been joined at the hip with computers in one way or another since then.
