I actually did this voluntarily(ish) last Sunday!
My router died and lost the login details.
Instead of looking for them, I decided not to, and did lots of Real Life things. I got so much done!
I'm thinking of doing this everh Sunday.
I must admit, though, it was hard, having had access to the internet every day for over 10 years.
For me, rationing doesn't work, it had to be cold turkey.
Best restaurant in the world
I used to live near Bray, and it had 3 amazing restaurants, we went to the Fat Duck when it first opened. The thing about Bray, is it has about 2 streets and about 20 residents.
I concede that the list is disputed and biased, but I have eaten (almost) all over the world, and the some of the best food can be had in Britain.
And the worst. Of course. :-)
More in-depth reporting, this time from Newsweek:
"How Bush Blew It Bureaucratic timidity. Bad phone lines. And a failure of imagination. Why the government was so slow to respond to catastrophe."
Indeed, rolypolyman. And not forgetting of course, the mayor, governor and senator, all the way up to the president.
The key problem seems to have been that no-one was taking charge -- that responsibility must ultimately lay at the top after FEMA's role was diminished to that of a supporting one.
It was of no surprise to me that Coastguard Vice-Admiral Thad W Allen took over from Brown.
We had learned before this that the coastguard was the only agency to take the initiative to rescue people because their tradition is to do act, and not wait for bureaucracy to take its course.
[cough] Vaporware! [cough]
A quote from the Primotech interview
"PT: In addition to handling the external design, is your company working on the wiring, electronics, and schematics as well?
AL: We do the industrial design and interface engineering on our part. These two are of our specialties."
So, in other words, this awesome technology (and yes, it would be awesome) is a concept only.
The product (internals, keys, screens on keys) have not been worked on by these guys.
They just came up with a concept and made some 3D renders.
Unless they actually convince/payan OEM to design AND make the thing, it's vaporware.
They waffle a bit about "it'll be porbably made in China. Or Korea." Or somewhere? else hmm>
They clearly have no manufacturing partner.
I have a Logitech diNovo which is the closest thing yet available, as it has an LCD in the keypad and other cool features. This would be great if it ever happens.
In case you hadn't noticed, I'm sceptical that it ever will.
I've done No. 50 -- it is a great bar -- fantastic views of the harbour, and the view from the urinal is better.
I tried to take photos in there, which was pretty tricky, as I clearly couldn't do this with other patrons present...

In 1993, I came up with an idea for a video game. It's been pretty successful.

I find it interesting that even ogrish.com has nothing, as far as bodies go. It does, but I'm not going to link to it.

Hurrah for the return of the Monkey. Metafilter was a sorry substitute for a while!

Excellent. I love gravity games. Completed all 125 levels in 843 seconds, with 228 deaths.
