Having been the poster at the Blue...I do often wonder about cross-polination. I am not sure why, but it feels wrong for me to post the same link across both boards...as if I would have to write it up differently to post them. Many of my blue links are posted here by other people which saves me the trouble of coming up with something new and clever to type. So which is it? Go ahead and post to both sides with the same text? (I do only link stuff if it really is the best of the web)...or let someone else decide to pick it up and post from one to the other (I do lose creative control then...not to mention propz!) Your thoughts are most welcome (if anyone is still reading this thread). btw, this link was originally found via this board...

In "Curious George:"

Mondale!

In "Curious George: Theatrical Shorts"

If its not too late, I would highly suggest David Mamet's 'The Poet and the Rent' as well as 'Revenge of the Space Pandas'. I was in both...the former being *very* funny with lots of vaudeville asides and such ("Where's the safe?" -Don't know. "Any ideas?" -we could look for it...all we have to do is find the money, once we find that, the safe will prolly be right around it!) ...the latter being a touch less subtle, but still very funny and fun to perform!

In "Pretty in Pink"

that was prolly the worst video I have seen in 2005...

In "Curious George: I'd like to start a blog."

I will second the advice of MadeByMark and loto...getting your own hosting is most important really...this way you are sure to not only have absolute control, but also the knowledge that there will be no random outtages/loss of content, as well as the far greater storage for your music (and being a band in this era, I personally think it is hugely important to offer lots of free music to your fans (eg: live soundboard recordings, tracks from albums, band interviews etc)). Again, I would second the use of DreamHost since they are by far the best price/performance managed hosting out there and a pleasure to deal with. Having recently been fired from my job due to my disability, I would be more than happy to lend a hand in anything you need and if you do go the dreamhost route, would really appreciate getting the referral credit ;)

In "Naked Man Shot and Killed"

This sparked quite the debate on IRC...mainly over the use of force. While I understand the police are here to protect, doesn't it seem excessive to kill a naked person weilding scissors? Did the police not have a non-lethal option available to them? It was an even split on either side of this case...those who were for it pointed out the difficulty in shooting a person in a specific place (tho mind you, we pay an awful lot to train cops to do just this neh?) during an adrenaline intense showdown. Those against (like me) wondered what benefits society by killing this man...especially now that we will never know what prompted the incident. I wish this article had more detail on the history of the naked man, as well as the public reaction to his killing. MoFi thoughts?

In "Chicken chicken chicken"

btw, now the word 'chicken' looks totally wrong to me..thanks a bunch fuyugare

man, I thought it was sad that I saw the typo...glad I was not the only one. 120 Instances of "Chicken" Found, so says Acrobat 7...now what again was the point of this post ?

In "Transparent Screens. "

Another one like stepself pointed out...very cool, but also a lot of time spent. The one thing most of these are missing is the proper lighting, otherwise, they would be perfect. If my monitor didn't weigh 203982938lbs (and my back hadn't 'sploded) I'd do one of these myself...

In "Curious George: I'd like to start a blog."

For just simple stuff, I would highly recommend MySpace as a place to start...I have several friends bands that use it to host their tunes and keep a simple blog. For some money, you could go with one of the many blog CMS systems that are available...you need limited knowledge and web hosting and you're set. Visit OpenSourceCMS to view working previews of the different ones available :) Personally, I use WordPress and quite enjoy it (very simple setup, lots of great options). If you need webhosting give me a shout for help!

In "on the Golgafrinchan 'B' Ark??"

Where do the unemployed disabled folk go? Maybe I could get a job as one of the B Ark crew (since no one else wants to hire me)...

In "Mike Tyson's Punch-Out meets breakfast!"

khan-x: it was me that put it @ MeFi too ! guess I should have cross-linked it neh? Direct .swf link for those who want to avoid the branding aspect (and play it fullscreen).

In "Mr. Woo juggles a soccer ball."

First video here as a direct link...wish Firefox didn't have trouble with some embedded content :(

In "Life Just Got Easierâ„¢"

yeah, between this and commercial chicken farming, becoming a vegetarian looks better every day. This thing scares the hell out of me :( There can be only one! Direct video link that is

Another take on the lyrics with some good comments :)

jb: Which Farscape episode are you talking about? I can think of a couple that might be close, but I would have to watch them to see (which I can having all the eps). Damn I love that show. I second macs emotion on this one :)

In "Take a Virtual Skate down the World's Longest Skating Rink. "

that is a seriously badass 'tour' of the canal...

In "OrganicHTML"

I've noticed some parts of the plant seem clickable, yet nothing happens...defintely strange in its manner...try out archive.org for one bigass plant!

In "Curious George: Good auto repair site?"

The previous comments are right...on my '95 Jetta flushing the coolant system and replacing the thermo-sensor is (apparently) a major pain in the arse, yet my local guy did it for $75 (even after saying he had to leave it hooked up to the vacuum system for 5 hours!) so I would *definitely* get a second opinion (the first place I tried wanted $150). It sucks that finding honest mechanics is so bloody hard...
