dxlifer & mygothlaundry, thanks. i never knew the millennium symbol was called an Ourobourus. i actually took it from the cover (and content) of this book. except i used the navajo monster slayer instead of the rainbow goddess. and took some liberties with color. the top bit is the outer ring of a tibetan mandala, the mountain of fire. the guy that inked it had a tat very similar to the one that waraw has, except the knot was on his back and he had a sun-like design on the loop on his chest.

here's mine.

Nal, that was the first thought that popped into my head.

In "On December 30, 1972 at 9:22 p.m. a plane took off from San Juan, Puerto Rico."

kjo84, it seems as though many of those who voted "no" weren't voting against clemente but against the waive of the 5-year waiting period.

thanks for the post. his son is doing a nice job of carrying on with his father's humanitarianism. roberto jr. was going to re-enact his father's ill-fated flight by accompaning a two tons of supplies and relief money to nicaragua, but instead chose to send those supplies to the tsunami victims. oddly enough, the earthquake in nicaragua occurred on same date as the one that hit south Asia.

In "Hardcore Kitten Action..."

thank you thank you thank you for bringing some joy into what has been an utterly shitty week.

In "Playable Parody of King's Quest"

here's a walk-thru if anyone is stuck.

In "Everything you ever wanted to know about viking funerals."

ever since i saw this movie i wanted a viking funeral. i sort of had one for my rat a few years ago. we built a small raft, strapped him to it and sent him down the ramapo river. didn't set him ablaze though. too many dry leaves around.

In "Secret Christmas names"

Lovable Brandy butter-Fairy

In "Tromping through wet and cold Prague"

Brazil, with Time Bandits a close second.

In "But I WANT to exposed to anus"

Assorcism by the Roofies.

Doesn't need to be done if you feed 'em right. They need lots of fruit. i feed mine frozen peas and the occasional green leafy vegetable. seems to help. as for the fatty tumors, i read somewhere that feeding rats too many nuts can cause them.

In "Curious George - Searching for a College"

well, we weren't all engineers. i was in the school of art and design. but, yeah, i can see how you'd want to avoid a college such as RIT. (oh, and there's no "n" in my name :-)

i'd suggest my alma mater but the programs there may be too specific for your needs. I was a Skidiot too! i have to say boooo to skidmore. but that's only 'cause you were somewhat rivals of ours in softball.

In "International Adoption"

(i really hope some of that made sense)

first off, congrats and mad props to everyone who has or will be adopting. in regards to the "should you teach your adopted child about her/his ethnic background", i say go for it. i'm adopted as well and I have very little knowledge of my birth parents. i didn't find out until i was older that they were armenian (that's what my mom said the agency told her anyway). i wish i had known when i was younger. whenever we would have a social studies project in school on our ethnic background i just didn't feel a connection with anything from my parents' families (german, belgian and irish). don't get me wrong, i love my family dearly and they are the only people i consider my parents. but i'm so obviously not one of the aforementioned ethnicities (i've been told that i look italian, greek, hispanic, or any other swarthy ethnicity.) and it's not so much that i feel the need to know about my birth parents, but rather know about my bloodlines and the cultures relating to it. i was raised in a very american family as well. we didn't have any traditions that were carried over from the old country (unless you consider jersey city the old country). so maybe that had something to do with my lack of identification with a non-american culture.

In "Elevator Moods"

excellent. i like how they left out the 13th floor.

In "Is This Truly New Jersey?"

but it's my state and i think it's great (warning: midi and popups abound)

The luminous swamp gas blooms from the landfills in Sayreville and East Rutherford can be quite breathtaking. growing up in the former i can attest to said gas blooms. we would stand on the banks of the raritan at night to gaze upon the "eternal flames."
