In "Retouching a magazine cover. [Flash] "

This trickery exists, but it's a bit misleading - it is mostly for lesser magazines, ads, and celebrities. If you want a nice little article on Oprah for your magazine you don't want Oprah to have any skin blemishes. If a place has the appropriate budget to hire women from top modeling agencies, there is really very little retouching to be done - a pore and blemish here and there. The first link is actually very interesting - it was the 'this guy's' link that got me on this rant.

Corner Bistro in NYC - The key is the broiler instead of the flat grill. Also the bacon is cooked in a deep fryer. And for god's sake don't order it well done!

Well I'm not exactly sure what 'cool' means but... Playing video games has not become 'cool'. Yes I play video games.

How did we slip politics into this thread? Were the Enron guys Democrats?

A beginner should most definititely learn to draw without a computer, and leave the skills of tablets/photoshop for later. ActuallySettle - your post is a bit confusing but I hope you are just saying that one should not learn on the computer - to say that great art cannot be created on a computer is disturbingly ignorant (or just elitist?).

In "Eddie van Halen saw this and started spinning"

>It's extemely gimmicky then again so is Van Halen. Eddie van Halen is an old man who bores us now and has arguably not made any 'good' music in over 20 years - if ever. But I would hesitate to call him gimmicky, as he really was a massively influential pioneer (in many more ways that just silly fret tapping) whom this woman is obviously indebted to.

In "We all need some compensation"

Doesn't royalties refer to money from the publishing of the song? That money belongs to the publishing company and the author of the song (Roger Waters). The chorus is an important part of the song, but it was still Waters' idea and his lyrics. If they are arguing that they were never paid for their work as session vocalists then I agree with that. Maybe my terminology is confused.

allow me to give the first real answer: The double cheeseburger for $1 is probably an offer specific to that location - possibly for a limited time. Each location is allowed to have certain items priced specially - At other locations the double cheeseburger may be the normal price - $2.49 or whatever it is - and they might have other items (dessert, mcnuggets, etc) that are priced lower than average. In my poor college days, there was a McD with the same deal that stopped the offer, so we had to search out a new location for the $1 double cheese.

It's okay to date Puff Daddy. It's okay to date Ben Affleck. But if you date Puff Daddy AND Ben Affleck... then you just like dating famous people.

Can you just buy a regular french cuff shirt with a sleeve size that is too short for you? - I guess they probably don't make sizes that are that far off.
