Dried up lake beds? Not quite.

In "You thought Gene Simmons was getting a lot of trim. "

If this interests you, I'd really recommend picking up a copy of Bryan Sykes' The Seven Daughters of Eve, where he breaks down rDNA to prove that every modern European is the descendent of one of seven women. Very good read, I thought.

One thing that you can do to immediately save some space is to get rid of all the extra language files that you'll never use (presuming that you use English for the applications). Mike Bombich wrote a great app called DeLocalizer that will scan through your OS X volume and remove all the language files except US English (you can exclude other languages individually as well. It doesn't sound like much space would be saved, but the average I've seen is 600-700MB. (Mike states that DL is not verified for 10.3, but I've never seen any problems while running it under 10.3.)

It also seems strangely small. I know the cartoon version of the house is not the biggest, but the picture of the exterior didn't click with me as the Simpson estate at all until they said THAT was the house. jb: yeah, I agree - they seem strangely vibrant. I think the rumpus room is the result of Groening never have thought of that space as even existing, and it sure beats a divot into the corner of the house. I would've just walled it off. Continuity can really be a bitch.

And where the hell did the rumpus room come from?
