PatB, they changed their linking policy (I'd link the comment from the other thread if I could figure out how). Seriously, what's bad worse about this situation? Don't let them frame the issues; let's not get all huffy about a slight increase in the govs power and forget about the fact that they tried to put fucking star chambers into Patriot Act 2 and extraordinary rendition. The only application for this is that they could find out where all the liberals work in order to coordinate a CIA helmed terrorist attack or perhaps out people running for public office who frequent gay bars.

I'm sort of afraid that Edwards and Kerry aren't making as good a case against Bushco because they don't want to do much differently, or at least not commit to doing that much differently. Cutting Combat pay is one thing but cutting their medical benefits is something I think people would react more viscerally too. But then again, they could be reacting much better to things like Kerry voting against the bullet proof vests, and weapons.

Edwards: "Are you sure only I have 90 seconds? Are you sure I don't have...one million seconds?" Cheney: "Well, you know there's so much I can say to that, I don't know where to begin. Totally inaccurate actually. Gramaticly incorrect...Doesn't exist in the same reality. I don't think I even need to comment on it, actually."

Katharine before Audrey? For loin-stirage? Enthusiastic ditto to Ingrid Bergman. And if I went that way: Steve McQueen, James Cagney, Charlie Chaplin, and Humphry Bogart...prehaps Robert Mitchum, still don't know about him..

One picture that always stayed in my mind was when the local police came to my high school and showed us pictures of a guy whose arms where covered in scabs from where he'd been picking to find a blood vesel. Just completely poka-dotted. Does anyone know the statistics of sending a junkie to prison versus government support of their habit?

Well obviously the forced male prostitution trade is going to take its place. I can relate to the idea that liberals can be oversensitive, but you don't respond to that by being outright cruel.

Babelfish claims Strand Beest means Range Animal. This was really cool, thanks ecomuseboy.

How ironic, Turner Classic Movies just announced they're going to show musicals every Tuesday and Thursday(?) next month. Though, I can't find anything on their site. Oklahoma! was suprisingly good, as was Pennies from Heaven (the Steve Martin version). I really need to get a copy of Footlight Parade because James Cagney is the best actor of all time.

LarimdaME: But what about the precedent this sets? As in, the idea of legal precendent, where once somehting happens in the legal realm it's pretty much taken as law, the judges don't redecide the same issue. I don't know if that applies when the legislative and executive totally disregard the literal foundation of our country, but I would think so. A better move would to make some sort of law that would prevent people from making such decisions if they have such a signifigant gain (if the Standard is to believed, which I also question). Or perhaps a better appeal process. I don't know. Also, the idea that its more moral to let someone die slowly than them being euthanized is rediculous, if you ask me.

There's a really intense airship scene in the 30's, Jean Harlow, WWI movie Hell's Angels. The last shot of the scene is two stunt doubles running to avoid a god damn full-sized, firey, falling blimp!
