In "Curious George: Do you have MonkeyToes?!?!"

Excuse me, but I AM MonkeyToes!

In "CueRIose gEorjeh - (sp?)"

"Appropirate men" made its way into a lot of emails to friends. I meant, of course, that I was having trouble finding appropriate men to date. Then I took a look at the rogues' gallery of boyfriends and decided that appropirate was the right word after all. Also, bureau.

In "Curious, George: UNLURK!"

Hi. I'm MonkeyToes, and I like Capt. Renault's middleclasstool. I also enjoy the quidnunc, kid, and I'm just beeswacky for forksclovetofu. Sadly, I don't like pie.

In case you're in the mood to stay up at night worrying, check out Avian Flu -- What We Need to Know and the Agonist's Disease Outbreaks discussion board.

In "NPR, PBS DOA?"

Middleclasstool, I'd settle for the bad boys of public radio. Just think of Tom and Ray in one of those, um, automotive calendars! And as a special bonus, there could be a CD of Garrison Keillor's heavy breathing!

Del Barco? McGuire? People, people -- Silvia Poggioli! Wouldn't you miss her throaty voice and sophisticated pronunciation? Doesn't anyone else imagine her having a whiskey and a cigarette after she shuts off the mike, world-weary, sadder and wiser? I, for one, welcome non-mid-Atlantic accents in the media. Take a minute and sign the petition. Call or e-mail your Congresspeople. Do it for Silvia!

In "Curious George: Traditional Irish and Scottish Music"

For your listening pleasure, check out BBC radio (click on the "Folk and Country" link for the various Celtic/Gaelic/Scottish shows) and RTE Radio from Ireland (click on "Music"). Some of the shows on these stations should satisfy your jones for real, traditional music, and, with luck, give you some background.

Pin-striped bananas for all! Thanks for your suggestions. Sohcahtoa, you have saved my sanity; that was the thread I was looking for. Fes, kudos to you, you stylish monkey. And as for Mr. MonkeyToes, it's time to go shopping (muhahahaha).

Your monkey eyes for the straight guy are helpful -- keep the suggestions coming. Oh, and Argh, don't encourage the Mister's habit. I keep hiding his camo weekend baseball cap (not unusual in our part of the world), but somehow it always turns up again.

In "A collection of ideas that adults thought were true when they were children."

Where I lived, there were a lot of "Caution: Hidden Drive" signs. I thought it was cool to have a driveway that no one could see.

In "Curious George: Philly attractions"

How about a visit to the excellent Please Touch Museum? It's designed for the 7-and-under set, and gets rave reviews from the little ones. I always enjoyed going to the University of Pennsylvania's Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, followed by a visit to the (relatively) nearby Koch's Deli, a true Philadelphia experience. Moonbird, I join you in exile from the Land of the Drexel Special...
