since you're not going to europe (and given the dollar exchange rate, certainly not the UK at the moment), if i was american i'd take the opportunity to travel south ... mexico perhaps (hey, it's adjacent) or barring that - argentina and uruguay, just for the hell of it ... or if you want to go all the way, read up on patagonia (bruce chatwin) and try that ...
on a slightly different tack, the godsquad, the ID people and the panspermists (to coin a phrase) all seem to want/need/allude to a higher court of appeal ... ie god/aliens/the other intelligence can not only buttress a moral tack taken by 'the chosen' ... but as a species we're also off the hook because there's always the chance that daddy will turn up and make it all better ...
further, wouldn't ID imply a move *towards* something? whereas evolution is just a move. interesting site incidentally ...
an echo of flashboy's comment ... watching the rainbow clip i thought that there was no way this was actually broadcast (i remember the show from the 1970s when i was a kid) ... too obvious and too short (the actual programme format was longer) ... it struck me as something that had cropped up on 'TV naughtiest blunder' style shows in the last few years, something the cast and crew did for a laugh ...
rainbow did achieve something akin to cult status later in life though when it was discovered as 'comedown tv' for the chemical generation in the uk
