In "What's a vote worth?"

The only explanation that I could come up with was that someone did this on purpose to get this sort of attention to see if their absentee ballot actually got counted. I would imagine that someone with a stamp collection of the caliber that would contain one of these zillion dollar stamps would keep their collection in a different part of their wallet than the stamps we all use to mail stuff.

In "The tragedy in seattle."

I was getting coffee yesterday morning when a girl came in and asked to use the phone. She was on the phone for a minute, I wasn't really paying attention. She handed the phone back to the barista and said "my friend just died - Did you hear about the shooting in Capitol Hill" and started crying. The barista hugged her and she walked out. It was pretty surreal. This is such a mellow city. It's really disconcerting to find out that someone attending the same small school that I went to, and a bunch of my buddies still attend, did this 3 blocks from where I had my first Thanksgiving in Seattle...

In "Araucaria Araucana,"

We have quite a few of them here in the Seattle area. Some people I know play a game like the punch buggy game, where you punch someone when you see one of the trees.

In "Blizzard's WoW "

i prefer to trade frame rate for privacy and play on my mac ;-)

In "Curious George... wifi"

Yeah, same here in Seattle. I get free wifi in my little cave but only because the owner lives upstairs and shares it with the 2 tenants. I have to agree that $50 is not a good deal for it tho. Comcast is only $45 a month i think. you have to give them your street address to see the price? wtf is that?

In "WildFinder"

I question it's accuracy telling me that I can find coyotes and elk in Seattle. Oh, I suppose they might have a couple at the zoo...

In "Hawaiifruit.net"

crap. the missing link

It's clearly missing the most important fruit of all, as anyone who's eaten one would agree: Jamaican Lilikoi [pictured here, scroll down] Also known as the Jamaican Passionfruit.

In "Free Sex with coupon!!!"

Who would want to have sex with a coupon?

In "www.OnlineTimeTravelPharmacy.com"

Some people have too much time on their hands!

In "Curious George: Back-ups."

The other one to consider is the iPod. Then you get the added bonus of uhm, having an iPod. Here's a 30 gig iPod Photo for only $289 and you can sometimes find better if you can find the older, non-photo ones... How big is the drive in the iBook? (on preview - i don't know much bout this, but I hear that cd-r's degrade over time and you don't really know when. so one day you go to get the old wedding pics back to make some reprints and the cd is suddenly rife with bad blocks and corrupted pics of wifey with cake on her face. that said, the iPod also has a limited lifespan... )

funny, i was just looking at these... still works for me to go through the front door: http://www.livejournal.com/community/vintage_ads/

In "<b>Curious George: I've Been Spoofed!</b>"

email was designed, for some reason, with the capability of spoofing the originating address. spammers use this feature to indemnify themselves and in this case, implicate you. I've actually set up a spam catcher that looks for undeliverable mail and ditches it. It only burns me every so often and it saves me the dozens of irritating emails you're talking about.

In "The Squirting Dialogues"

hehe. well... what the hell is this post here for then?

I'm really surprised no one else has anything to say here... I'll start. I've only encountered one, possibly 2 women who could or did squirt. It's freaking cool, in my opinion. Lets me know I'm doing my job right ;-) Yeah, it messes up the bed a bit, but then sex isn't supposed to be neat, is it? It's about connecting to your animal side and cutting loose... And what's the big deal with laying out a towel if you know it's coming. TMI? maybe... maybe that's why no one else has posted...

In "TVGuardian"

Q: Why does TVGuardian® mute the phrase instead of just the offensive word? because as anyone who's ever seen closed-captioning in action, it is nowhere near synced up with the actual words, so they need to blank out a good portion around it...

In "Das Keyboard"

this would also be lame for gaming - there are different sets of key weights, depending on the finger strength of the finger that hits the keys. awesome for typing. bad for wasd controlled games...

In "Save the antelope"

sweet.

In "Curious George - Best iPod Hacks?"

iPodrip kicks butt. gets all the shite and puts it into folders, band->album->song, based on the id3 tags. also, its free to use 10 (?) times.

In "Curious George: Learning Flash"

8 hours might not get you very far... It's a really deep program... Learning Actionscript is like learning Java at this point and you'll kinda need to if you want to do anything beyond making buttons that wiggle when you mouse over them. I have had good results (shameless self link) from the books (this one in particular) put out from macromedia themselves. The "bible" books are more for reference, I don't know why everyone goes right to them... More important is utilizing the many sites and resources out there... (totally random selection. some useful, some not so much...) Google knows even more of them.
