iRate radio is another good source. It auto-downloads free music based on how you rate the music you've listened to. I've discovered some real gems this way.
The sound is vaguely reminiscent of a theremin. One of these days (or years) I'm going to build one--there are schematics floating around on the web, and the components cost around $100.
Weird instruments are neat.
BBF: Right, I'm actually using the "Yellow" theme now, but all four options make me go cross-eyed to varying degrees.
But then, I spend much of my time writing code in a terminal emulator with a black background, so I'm probably hard to please.
Another MeFite here. I've known about Monkeyfilter since it was first announced, and popped in to read on occasion, but it was the Big MeFi Blackout that spurred me to register an account. Only to find that my username was taken. *shakes fist*
I'm over it, really. And I find the simian-centric discussion here to be refreshingly silly. Now I just need a sheet of blue cellophane to stretch over the screen when I visit. Or, you know, a new stylesheet...
Well, let's be fair. Kim Jong Il is under a lot of pressure. It's not easy being at the center of the universe.
