Ottawa Meetup Pics Here are the Ottawa photos, as promised - only a few, unfortunately. If you follow the tags marked Metafilter, you'll see more photos from the other attendees (including marginally better photos of myself - I love you, tracicle, to put such a crappy one of myself up there in your shoutout!). We had a good turnout, 11 in total, with two dual citizens (myself, bonehead) and one outright Monkey (StoryBored). We missed mare and wished Rorschach had shown up with his mohawk.
The Skyscraper Page. The Petronas Towers, the Chrysler Building, and the Sears Tower are all well known, but have you ever looked at a building and said "What is the name of that?"--even in the city you’ve lived in all your life? SkyscraperPage.com (loads slowly) has a detailed city search of buildings great and small. Also, check out the diagrams of over 2,000 buildings currently under construction. more inside

Vatican offers exorcism courses. In 1999, the Vatican issued the first new exorcism ritual since 1614, so formal lessons make sense, I guess. I hope the exorcism students aren't paying much for their classes, though, since the rites are available on the Internet. more inside

The new art club. I predict that the popularity of art clubs will skyrocket. Men visiting these venues will be recognized as art coinnoseurs.
Bugs may be classic, but now he's extreme, too. In an effort to revitalize the classic Looney Tunes characters for a young audience, Warner Brothers' has redesigned Bugs et al as futuristic crimefighters. Not everyone is happy about it, though, and judging by this preview the results may be a mixed bag. (Heavily trafficed Quicktime site.)
Monkeys are good people. I just thought we could all use a little reminding, considering the strife of the past several weeks.
The Smoking Gun has released the grand jury testimony in the Michael Jackson case. Once again, we're looking down the barrel of a "trial of the century." Why are we so intrigued (even if in a train wreck I-can't-stop-looking sort of way) by celebrity/high profile trials? Why do they get so much media coverage? Why do we care? more inside
