The Ejaculator
(SFW) I don't know what more to say except "Touchdown!!!"
Australia has some of the best politicians money can buy.
Actually, I don't know what changed hands. But read it and weep. Registration may be required though, so I've grabbed a few of the choicer lines, see below the fold.

"As god as my witness, I thought Turkeys could fly"
[wav]
The infamous words of Arthur Carlson, station manager of WKRP in Cincinnati.
Possibly the best comedy ever to be put on the small screen, never having jumped the shark. It is available on VHS however the original music used in the episodes, which was current hit songs at the time, was removed and replaced with muzzak in order to avoid the huge licensing fees.
The results are some very mangled episodes.
Scott Muni, New York radio legend, died this week at the age of 74.
I comtemplated whether I should post this because I'm not clear as to how many monkeys are familiar with him. Scott Muni was a very popular AM disc jockey in the 50s and 60s in New York. In 1967 he made a successful leap to FM radio, devoting himself to free form radio, which became AOR ("album oriented rock", today known more or less as "classic rock"). In those days, radio stations relied more on disc jockeys to create their playlists, and a popular jock could make or break a performer. Scott was one of those jocks. In January of this year he had a major stroke, which put him out of commission.

Curious George
a monkey tale ... this is a massive coincidence (or I'm missing something really obvious).

The story of Diego Garcia is shocking, almost incredible.
Diego Garcia is one of the biggest American bases in the world. It was not always so. During the 1960s, in high secrecy, the Labour government of Harold Wilson conspired with two American administrations to "sweep" and "sanitise" the islands of 2,000 inhabitants using a combination of fictions, lies and intimidation. more inside

Zep-plans.
The Airship Heritage Trust website has the best collection of online airship plan and view drawings I have seen online. Zeppelin Museum Tønder comes a close second with these nerd-tastic stats pages, including our old friend the L30!

Conceal partial baldness!
Why have I not heard of US patent no. 4,022, 227 earlier? I'm looking at you, Mr Smart-Aleck Internet! Pictures here.
"I enclose two small deposits
, selected with great care from my cats litter tray, as an expression of my utter and complete contempt for both you, and your pointless company. I sincerely hope that they have not become dessicated during transit - they were satisfyingly moist at the time of posting, and I would feel considerable disappointment if you did not experience both their rich aroma and delicate texture."
Curious George: Yellow ribbon stickers.
In recent weeks I've seen an explosion of yellow ribbon vehicle stickers that look exactly like the sample on the left. The funny thing is that they're not on sedans -- 98% of the ones I see here in Austin are on big pickups and SUVs (many of them with GW04 decals). No sedans are sporting them. What's the story behind this sticker? Is this purely an impulse item at Wal-Mart? Or is it being mailed out to GOP supporters to help sway the vote?
Serious George.
Some advice for me, for my cousin. He's 15, immature, and suffers from serious self-confidence and self-esteem issues. To make up for it he lies constantly, exaggerates everything to make him seem 'cool', and is an all-around shit. But now he took a loaded gun to school, got expelled, and my uncle and aunt are about to send him off to a teen boot camp. How can I help him?

Why Can't We Be Friends?
With all the talk about North Korea's nuclear program on last nights debate, some might be wondering what they can do to ease the tension between nations.
Solution:
Why not become a member of the Korean Friendship Association. I mean with such a snazzy hymn[Flash] and super fun activities, their must be at least a cool t-shirt in it for you...
The a priori presumption of the continuity of a motorcycle from second to second
- Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, by Robert M. Pirsig. Ever read it? Brilliant novel, structurally & otherwise. I was wondering the other day, has anyone attempted to make a screenplay based on it? That would be impossible, I mused, beginning to sketch a treatment on my trusty legal pad. I gave up shortly thereafter.
Quite by chance, I discovered these photos from Pirsig's 1968 road trip that inspired the novel.
