Curious George: Email lists
My job isn't the most exciting in the world so I like to read cool stuff to pass the time. Unfortunately, people can see my screen and I feel inhibited in my web surfing. I've subscribed to a few email lists like The Guardian's football Fiver and Complexity Digest that I can read without it being immediately obvious that it's not work. Any monkeys know of any other good ones? I'm primarily looking for interesting/amusing content rather than news stories.
Voices From Spirit Magazine,
the national outlit for true Spiritism, and, the Awakening. Spiritism is an ancient Faith which its practitioners believe originated on an ancient world called Hades, and was brought to Earth over 500,000 years ago by the Survivors of a tragic war, that established colonies here on Earth, and later were destroyed in one final holocaust, which has been passed down in human legends as The Great Flood, or, Rain Of Fire.

Washington's Area 51.
Built at a cost of over $1 billion in the 1950s, Mount Weather in the Virginia mountains is where key members from all branches would take control during a civil emergency. It is rumored to contain some of the most extensive underground structures in existence. While FEMA is open about its part, some conspiracy theorists call Mount Weather the future capital of an unelected government. Interestingly the public road nearby is to be routed away from the facility to expand the entrance. Also see a gallery on its sister, Greenbrier, which is now decomissioned.

Autism fascinates me. Why? Because it causes such an alien way of thinking, of ordering the mad existence we call life. The author of the essay linked, Temple Grandin, is as close to an expert on autism as you'll find since, after all, she is autistic.

Breakup Babe
She describes her blog as "[t]he self-pitying yet witty rantings of a broken-hearted, boy-crazy, 30-something writer girl on the move (and on the prowl)." The blog started here, after a tough breakup where she had to see the guy everyday at work: "So I saw Loser in the hallway today and it was awful. I think because he seemed happy. And not only did I have to see him, I had to hear him, and the sound of his voice was a sense memory that cut like a scalpel
