My God.
  • Man that croc is HUGE. Too bad they killed it, poor thing.
  • The big croc was a big crock
  • man, that snopes prick ruins EVERYTHING
  • that´s still a big-ass croc
  • Cousin Bert!!
  • Because the damage and its actual aftermath was not enough. Now people have to make up stories about man-eating crocodiles swimming through the city. asshats.
  • Am I the only one that can't read the words "my god" without hearing them in "Charlton Heston" voice? You damn dirty monkeys!
  • No, I hear it in Dave Bowman's voice.
  • My god, talk about a boring movie.
  • Well there's one test you fail, techsmith.
  • Take that as having more of a "different strokes" tone than a snarky one.
  • Nice to know where to find the ex-.
  • It always surprises me when people mix up crocs and 'gators. But that almost certainly comes from growing up around gators down in Florida. They're pretty easy to tell apart by looking at the snout -- alligator snouts are much thicker across the front. I may very well be wrong, but the only crocodiles I've heard of in the U.S. are small salt-water crocs down at the South end of Florida, though I wouldn't be surprised if they showed up in the Lousiana salt marshes too. And they're not known as man-eaters. That would be usually be the Nile river crocs, a few other African varieties, and maybe the Indian flavor too, iirc.
  • Based on the Snopes site it appears that it was a croc because the photo was taken in Africa. If you happen along a large reptile in the streets of New Orleans it is most likely to be someone in the employee of the governement but, if not, an alligator rather than a croc.
  • or "happen upon" your choice
  • Nah, I didn't read that as a snark. I'm sure I've seen more movies that most people here... to each his/her own. I'd take Kubrik's Eye's Wide Shut over 2001 any day...
  • god... Eyes even.. my typo's are killing me.
  • De crocs in Oz'll eatcha, right snappy'n'all.
  • OMG! "Eyes Wide Shut" sucked! Seriously, are you kidding? "S.O." wasn't boring when it came out. What's the excuse for "E.W.S."? ;> .....anyway....I'm definitely hearing Keir Dullea.
  • Eyes Wide Shut was crap.
  • That's a damn big crocogator, y'all. Damn!
  • Right Schnappi 'n'all?
  • Eyes Wide Shut was a horrible movie and one that marred an otherwise brilliant career. Why did he have to go out with that one? It's still painful to think about. And what about the music? WTF? After a relatively short exposure to that piece... I'm sure you remember the one...each repeated piano note became like a malevolent steel spike callously puncturing my frontal lobe, rending it asunder.
  • It was a terrible dud, and I say that as a Kubrick fan. In fact, I say it especially as a Kubrick fan.
  • Plus, PLUS could he have picked to worse actors to play the leads? Could he? I think not. What's worse is that it had real potential and he blew it completely.
  • Now this is Kubrik at finest. (warning: quicktime)(double warning: tounge embedded in cheek)
  • tounge=tongue
  • Eyes Wide Shut!? I was embarassed for Kubrick, watching that!
  • But again, different tastes.
  • Pictures of the dead beast hauled up for a photo op remind me of the late Hogzilla.
  • I hate to be anal, but FPPs with no description are a pet peeve of mine.
  • eyes wide shut crap? i thought so the first time i saw it. but kubrick, as only he can do, created layers upon layers of highly creepy inuendo and life imitating art (as it goes that kubrick knew cruise and kidman were as fake as the plastic trees in the movie). great casting. great filming. great locations. great porn. pause the movie anywhere and it's either a haunting or astounding visual. read between the lines and you can start to uncover the past of cruise's character. the movie grows on you like a month of deep introspective/constructive depression and the cold icy comfort of not getting out of bed for days.
  • Well, there certainly no arguing with all that!
  • /Last reply posted before I read uhmyang's
  • damnit. just when i thought there was no arguing with me.
  • The whole subject's just a croc.
  • *groans / throws tomato*
  • Oh intercourse the penguin!! /Eek
  • I have no problem with there being no description on the front page. I thought that the meaning was, in fact, very clear: LivewireConfusion belongs to a religion that worships crocodiles.
  • "Eyes Wide Shut: It's like 'Red Shoe Diaries', but duller."
  • Triple-L, that made me laugh.
  • DMN: That is not a crocogator, it's a alladille!
  • uhmyang's post convinced me that I love Eyes Wide Shut after all.
