The World Solar Challenge
participants will traverse more than 3,000km over the Australian continent - from tropical Darwin to balmy Adelaide, in cars powered by nothing more than the sun.
The race began in Darwin on Sunday and the leaders are currently between Katherine and Tennant Creek In the lead is the odds-on favorite Nuna3 of the Netherlands. The first teams are expected to reach Adelaide on Wednesday.

Go sunstang!

(And that a solar-powered car from the Netherlands should perform well is no small irony...)

A friend of mine is providing daily updates on Soleon's progress. Our hometown solar geeks are currently in 14th Place.
