Bentos. Cute as. [via]
  • I gotta show my wife this, she loves food and she loves cute.
  • My kid was happy with a cheese sandwich cut in a star shape and note saying she was "The Best Ever".
  • Oh ドラえもん, you look so bloody cute today. Here, let me introduce you to my hashi. Uh oh, I've lopped off your head! Mmmm, your eyes taste especially nice! Say, what about your nose? *munch* *munch* Keroppi!!! Oooooooooh noooooo!!!
  • I hereby declare I will no longer eat any food item that is not topped with a slice of Hello Kitty.
  • How about more realism for desert?
  • ハム太郎 (penultimate bento) is brilliant.
  • Notice how they used ham to creat Hamu? Heh...
  • Notice how they used ham to creat Hamu? I thought that was why they were called hamsters. One little beastie that doesn't taste like chicken. Wait, why are you all looking at me like that?
  • Egad, anyone who tries to serve me a meal that looks like this is very much in danger of being stabbed in the eye with a fork. Or a chopstick. Or whatever happens to be close at hand that is both pointy-and-painful.
  • But do they taste good? BlueHorse's "realism" link looked very unappetizing to at first. But after looking at the pictures showing how it was made, I now crave a white chocolate rib cage.
  • Ummm, I don´t see no South Park. I see Powerpuff Girls and some of those Japanese cartoons that make me gag, but no South Park. Just thought I´d point that out.
  • Isn't the 5th meal down a character from South Park (If not, excuse my cultural faux pas)?
  • 5 down is けろけろけろっぴ (Kerokerokeroppi, or Keroppi for short). #1 = ねこちゃん (Nekochan) #2 = ドラえもん (Doraemon) #3 = ぱんだぐみ (Pandagumi) #4 = アンパンマン (Anpanman) #6 = ハム太郎 (Hamutaro, or Hamtaro in the US) #7 = Power Puff Girls (The only non-native Japanese character/s, but are highly successful in Japan)
  • Yeah, that's what I said "Hasu No Ue Keroppi (Keroppi on the Lily Pad)" is on South Park.
  • News to me. Then again, I haven't watched South Park in years.
  • Someone needs to do a dead Kenny bento box.
  • Here's a neat site with tons of pictures. Click "enter" then the first link on the left-hand sidebar ("daily lunch") for the blog. Check the archives too, there's some really amazing stuff.
  • nicely lurked, Meadowland! And tasty pictures too . . .
  • and I thought I was cool making smiley faces in the pancakes... /pathetic
  • A kind and thoughtful soul who works for a client of mine suggested today that we go for lunch at an excellent, all-you-can-eat sushi spot in Kitchener, Ontario. Oh gawd, what a lunch. Fifteen bucks and everything we wanted brought to the table, fresh and so, so good. Not a crass, stale buffet. No, you write what you want on a slip of paper, anything at all, name the quantity, and in a few minutes a very nice woman brings it to you. If you want, you can watch the sushi chefs preparing it, just so you know it is fresh. Want more? There are plenty of slips of paper on the table, just write down four more of this and six more of that. Again and again. Until you burst. I will go back. Maybe like right now.
