Curious George: Billing and Accounting Software
It's time for me to update my company's billing and accounting software, and instead of blindly purchasing upgrades I'd like to see if some of you monkeys have any recommendations.
I'm the office person in a 5-person interior design firm. I'm currently using Timeslips v. 10.5 for billing and BusinessWorks v. 5.0 for accounting. Both work well, but have drawbacks. Timeslips does nearly everything I need it to do, except a few drawbacks that might be due to the age of this version. BusinessWorks feels like overkill to me, especially with a $600 support cost (although that does include software updates, fixes, and tax table updates). Any thoughts?

At my firm, we use Juris. I've been with 2 law firms in 8 years using this software and it's quite good. It may be on the expensive side for your size office, but it does both billing and accounting, and they've got an amazing support team. They also have a lot of non-law firm users - it's not just for lawyers.

Thanks Mickey, I'll take a look. Timeslips is also "for law firms", and it's worked very well for us up to now.

Look into Simply Accounting. I like it better than just about any other accounting package, but I don't know what your specific needs are.

biscotti, I've downloaded the trial version. It looks pretty spiffy, with a price tag I like, too. Thanks!

Does anyone have any personal experiences with Quickbooks?
