Y.A.B.A.M.U. SF Bay Area Monkeys Meetup! Anyone up for meeting up this coming weekend? All simians are welcome, of course.

This coming weekend, that of the 24th/25th, has a bunch of events taking place in and around San Francisco/Berkeley. There's the Love Parade on Saturday. Sunday will have both the Folsom Street Fair and the How Berkeley Can You Be parade. On top of all this, the San Francisco Blues Festival is taking place over that weekend as well. Since certain monkeys might be convinced to come up north, how's the night of Friday the 23rd? Votes for Frijtz versus Zeitgeist versus Jupiter?

  • Oooh, I might actually be available for this one. My vote for Friday at Frijtz.

  • Damnit. As it turns out I don't get a real check from my new job until the beginning of October (on a related note, getting paid once a month sucks). So I'll have to take a rain check on SF meetupness. I'm disappointed, because there's stuff going on that weekend that I really wanted to check out. At any rate, I'll probably go up in November once I have a couple of paychecks in the bank and some credit card debt is paid down.
  • Word on the whole getting paid once a month sucks thing, bone. Especially when departmental ineptitude sets in and you find yourself with a paycheck missing for two months. I <3 ucla. SF monkeys, I really to go to a meetup. If only I was, like, in California when you held these things. Next time, hopefully.
  • Drat! Friday the 23rd is no good for me. There is, however, a MeFi meetup this Tuesday at Jupiter in Berkeley (site of the first Bay Area meetup). I'll be at that one, and I think it's well established by now that Monkeys are tolerated welcome. And before anyone whines about Berkeley being too far away, Jupiter is literally right on top of the BART station. It's so easy, you have no excuse.
  • I probably can't make Tuesday, but the Frijtz thing sounds good.
  • A pity it seems like so many monkeys won't be able to make it, but since yentruoc and Zanshin are in for Friday I'll propose 7:40 as a meetup time since I'll be taking Muni from Caltrain and should get there around then. Sorry that you guys won't be able to make it, the_bone & mandyman. I was looking forward to the prospect of meeting some LA monkeys, but I guess I'll have to wait. Say hi to the MeFites on Tuesday, ambrosia. I'm sorry I won't be able to make it.
  • No can do Friday. Yes can do Saturday. FWIW.
  • Saturday's no good for me. There is a slight possibility that I will get to ride on a love parade float, so I am pursuing that lead with all my optimism.
  • I'm making a plea to all my BA Monkeys. This Friday is the first time, and possibly only time, that I am actually available for some monkeying around. The wife and littlest monkey will be out of town celebrating a wedding and my exams will be finally over. I will need a beer. If you can make it, come out so I can see you.
  • Oh noes! Zanshin's coming! Everyone hide! Or at least look busy. Yarr!

  • By which I mean, are we meeting at Frijtz at 7-something, or will I be alone if I show up there?
  • I can't make it- stupid work-related event- but have some garlic fries for me. Mmmmmm.
  • After all my whining, I won't be able to make it. I've been talked into a post-exam drinking binge get-together with my fellow students, and will be in the East Bay.
