Welcome to FEMA for Kids!
Herman the Crab teaches kids how to be prepared for disasters and prevent disaster damage. One can also learn what causes disasters, play games, read stories and become a Disaster Action Kid. And don't forget to learn about FEMA. A story about his search for a disaster-proof shell is great reading, too!

Oh wow... Rule #1 Kiddies: Disasters don’t last very long. Soon, things will be back to normal. Rule #6: You may be able to help out. Children of all ages can help in the shelter by babysitting other children or cleaning up or serving food. You can even help with sandbagging or cleaning up your house after a tornado or hurricane or earthquake.
-
"You can get posters, videos and other fun things for free from FEMA." Have fun trying to get disaster aid though. "Order soon, and get a free Arabian horse toy!"
-
But where is Bert the Turtle? Is he... here? Or is he... here?
-
*cough*
-
Oh.
-
Rule #7: If you need to live in a sports stadium because your home was destroyed and some of your family members were killed, expect Barbara Bush to visit you with some soothing words of comfort.
-
Rule #1 Kiddies: Disasters don’t last very long. Soon, things will be back to normal. Some disasters last four years, some last eight.
-
And some last four years, and then eight.
