Open letter from Michael Moore Here
Any idea where all our helicopters are? It's Day 5 of Hurricane Katrina and thousands remain stranded in New Orleans and need to be airlifted. Where on earth could you have misplaced all our military choppers? Do you need help finding them? I once lost my car in a Sears parking lot. Man, was that a drag.

. . .

I know you didn't want to interrupt your vacation and I know how you don't like to get bad news. Plus, you had fundraisers to go to and mothers of dead soldiers to ignore and smear. You sure showed her!
  • Michael Moore's brand of sophistry does no good for the left.
  • Something about the tone of that piece doesn't seem right...
  • While I agree he makes liberals look bad, he does have some things to say that are worth hearing, taken with a grain of salt. The facts presented along with the sarcasm here are troubling, I don't care who presents them.
  • Constantly trashing Michael Moore because conservatives have some good reasons for disliking him (he does play fast and loose with the truth) isn't going to help things, I think. Best to take him for what he is - a demagogue preaching to the choir. Be amused if he amuses you and ignore him if he doesn't. My 2 cents.
  • So the consensus is that Moore's fifteen minutes are all but over. I'm sort of relieved. I bought Dude, Where's My Country? and found that not only was it essentially a written version of Fahrenheit 9/11 but it was written the same way Moore speaks. I imagine the old tracts people would hand out in the early days of the printing press had a very similar evangelical tone to them.
  • I liked Bowling for Columbine as a film but the logic of his argument was sacrificed for camera ops and grandstanding... Maybe that's why I find Jon Stewart waaay better. Stewart can get a debate going, whereas Moore is just decibels.
  • /Flagpole seethes for Daily Show not being available on satellite channels on his remote corner of the world, having to be settle for short clips on the net
  • /Chy reminds Flagpole that you can get them all on bittorrent
  • /I heard that soon the BBC will start airing entire Daily Show episodes.
  • Although I agree with many of Moore's assertions, he is an irritating gasbag and both an embarrassment and a liabilty to the left. I've enjoyed parts of his movies but he seems to be the left's equivalent to Rush Lumbago both in invective and girth.
  • While I agree he makes liberals look bad... He makes liberals look "bad" to ignorant conservatives, who are just looking for reasons to say the liberals look bad and refuse to see even worse on their side of the fence. If there was no Michael Moore, it wouldn't change a thing.
  • ...except one less reason for liberals looking bad.
  • I'll put Michael Moore as "The Worst Liberal" up against any nomination for "Worst Conservative" (Ann Coulter? Too easy?) and bet you that Mike comes out roses.
