Kittens from clones! Wildcat clone kittens at that. We're all doomed

  • I swear, I was just about to post this. KITFISTO, YOU'RE FREAKIN' ME OUT!!! As for the story itself, let me just say that I had to read the line "the father of all eight kittens is Ditteaux, cloned from Jazz" a couple of times to get it right.

  • Strangely, there's a cat living next-door-but-one to me named Madge. I doubt she's a clone.
  • The BBC site is entitled "First kittens for cloned wildcats". First kittens. I need new glasses. My laptop can't take much more tea spillage.

  • So here in Canada the CBC has locked out most of its employees, and as a result things like the website are pretty patchy. They've taken to running a "featured photo" on the main cbc.ca page that is not necessarily in touch with the current news. Anyway, yesterday it sort of was up to date - because the photo was a big pile of these kittens. It almost makes you think they should lock out their employees more often, if we get big piles of kittens along with our news.

  • Koko, I never took you for a silverback! Well, I knew something was up when Sidey quit posting. Her last post was on Friday July 15, the day after the "Moooshy incident." Over the weekend, that thread took quite a turn when Wedge posted this comment, effectively changing focus from moooshy to our dear Sidey. She stopped posting and commenting after that. It's been over a month now since we've heard from her, so I don't think she's away on vacation. SideDish: Come out, come out, wherever you are!! *waiting*
  • If Wedge's comment was the reason, well, would many of us agree with it? I don't. And, I don't think she abused the ability to link to stories she had written. She's a reporter, not a blogger with a site that needs attention. And, I can't remember any time she did a FPP to her articles. We've been pretty mellow about self liks in comments. I also emailed her, and hope she responds. In my email, I mentioned that I wish people who get pissed off and decide to leave would say why. You folks who do the "that person just wanted attention" thing deprive the rest of us of the ability to change our cut-throat tactics when disgreeing with a comment. Many of us (including myself,) would like to know how to make this a friendlier place for serious members, of which Side Dish has been one for a long time.

  • Justr had an email from SideDish: Please thank everyone for their kind emails. Rest assured it was nothing anyone did or said. I've taken on...several really interesting projects at work that keeping me verrrrrrrrrrry busy, so much so so much so that I really don't want to go online after work. Do think of this as a Sidey sabbatical! Carry on and I trust kittens will continue to abound in my absence. I love you guys. Dishy
