Curious George: Enterprise-level web hosting
There are a couple of web hosting threads already around, but they have been aimed at inexpensive personal web hosting. I'm wondering about the kind of web host that would provide hosting and tech support for a reasonably large company. It would need to be redundant, guarantee 24-hour access, the usual sort of thing...
So, how does your company manage web hosting? Or, alternatively, who would you go to for hosting if you were to become a company?

I use pair.com to host my personal sites, but they also do a lot of commercial-grade hosting, offer all the necessary 24/7 support, etc.

i work for an enterprise hosting company that provides hosting for wikipedia and a bunch of other enterprise clients (fox news, disney, sony music korea, ogilvy, and infinity broadcasting)we offer 24/7 support for most operating systems, we do both dedicated and colocated servers along with some virtual hosting too...

Dreamhost does dedicated server hosting as well. Their service for their shared hosting is excellent, so I see no reason that their managed hosting would be any different.

For the serious enterprise, there's Q9 Networks (www.q9.com). I've been briefed on their setup and the level of redundancy and security is very extreme. Not the cheapest, but if you're into paranoia hosting (i.e. you're a bank or other financial institution), Q9's got you covered. Plus, for the water cooler, you can talk about their CEO with the extremely unfortunate name of Osama Hussein.

If you're looking for "paranoia hosting", I couldn't think of a better named guy to go to...

Coulda been worse. Coulda been Saddam Bin Laden.

eapps is pretty decent. They offer everything from shared hosting to dedicated servers and probably even clustered environments. I haven't been in the market yet, so I don't know how much that will run you. They've got a good support team, they're responsive and they're philosophy is to let you run the server yourself. They have consultants on staff if you need help with larget projects. I have both a personal 'demo' site for projects as well as a small startup hosted there.

oh i forgot to mention the company I work for also provides 24-hour access to colocated servers, 24-hour tech support, redundant power with UPS systems, backup diesel power generators, multiple dark fiber connections for bandwidth, and we have 7 datacenters located around the world...

Monknoiz - could you divulge the name of your company? It sounds wicked cool... email?
