Curious George (yes, another): Wiki Do any Wikis support data fields, or are they all just blobs of text? Reason being...

I am planning a website dedicated to certain geographical points of interest, and I want basic stuff like latitude-longitude pairs, nearest city name, etc, handled in a way that I can easily sort or extract them from the DB if desired (to map them, etc). Can any Wikis stand up to maintaining special data fields separate from the text, or should I custom-code something?

  • jotspot, which I've been planning to try out for a personal site, seems to support stuff like that.
  • you might also check out twiki. there's a database plug-in here. i haven't used it but it seems to allow basic r/w operations.
Can any Wikis stand up to maintaining special data fields separate from the text,
    twiki definitely can, yes.
  • Thanks all -- I'll give them a shot.
