Adopt a penguin. Since you can't actually buy a penguin, this is the next best thing. You can name your own Magellanic penguin, and have a sign displayed over its burrow. They are not the most threatened species of penguin, but they do face some challenges.

For those who might have penguins on the brain after seeing March of the Penguins.

Can we send them sweaters? Oh, it says you can go meet your penguin...*ponders price of airline ticket* I love that they are also called jackass penguins, and I want to know how many of them are now referred to as Tux or Linus.

Funny you should mention sweaters.... I figure about half of them are named Opus or have a name with a Linux reference. And the temptation to go meet an adopted penguin would be very, very strong!

It's not very difficult for me to visit a penguin. I make sure I have lots and lots of very strong grass to smoke when I do it.

Nice post, patita! Penguins are, well, cool, as it were. ))) I like Snares penguins - they remind me of Robert Morley, somehow - mostly the eyebrows, I suppose.
