The Ballad of Polly and Wally A brilliant mock-up of current polyamory trends. Embedded QT movie. NSFW!!!!!!

This may be of little interest for those who are not familiar with or interested in polyamory and its related appendages, but if you are, its teh funny. (movie is about 5 minutes long)

  • Fewer aging hipsters, more dirty hippies, and it's spot on. I'm kidding! Sorta.
  • I thought the lead actor (Pascal Boisvert) was srboisvert from the blue. That made watching the movie just a little weird for me. (It's not him, by the way.) I found it pretty funny, although I wonder if it's too much of an insider-joke kind of thing. Something like Trekkies successfully makes fun of trekkies because the phenomenon is well-known to the general public. Doesn't this kind of comedy, where fun is poked at familiar conventions and tropes, require the viewer to be somewhat knowledgable of the subject matter for it to succeed? Is it reasonable to assume that the average person on the web is aware of such alternative lifestyles to the extent that they'd watch this and laugh with it and not at it? Probably over-thinking this, but I *am* pretty curious to know how mainstream this subject matter is and whether people who aren't so familiar with it found it funny.
