Mouth-watering site. I've always been fascinated with what people ate in ancient times, and how long it took us to figure out that something mixed with something else made something that tasted wonderful. I'm happy to report that Apicius' cookbook is alive and well in an English adaptation called Roman Cookery by John Edwards, with recipes adjusted for a modern kitchen.
