Curious/Poetic George Does anyone by chance have a copy of Rita Dove's poem "Looking Up from the Page, I Am Reminded of This Mortal Coil" (from her collection American Smooth) they could e-mail me, so that I can pass it on to a friend in South Africa (where they don't have as ready access to American poetry books)? Thanks in advance for any help.
  • languagehat: My uni's library has the book, and I would be happy to check it out (or just slip it off the shelf) and email the poem to you tomorrow (Monday) if no one else has yet. Just let me know.
  • Meredithea: You must post it. That is the LAW of MonkeyFilter. Don't bogart those poems, my friend.
  • meridithea: Thanks very much. If it's long and too much trouble to copy out, you can just scan it (if you have the technology); as far as I know, she just wants the poem, not necessarily an HTML version. Of course, if you want to make BlueHorse happy, you can post it here as well...
  • Sorry -- I got busy and didn't see the comments! I will both post and email the poem soon. (If she's more of a visual poet -- makes patterns with words -- I can also send a scan.) I'll probably do so tomorrow (Wed)!
