World of monkey.
I have a distinct feeling that this must be a double, if not triple, but I can't

bad, bad, bad, bad web site! this page was started in Sept of 2004 and hasn't been updated since Dec. 2004... It evidently held her interest for about 3 months... It held mine for about 30 seconds! Someone explain to me what "mimi" wanted to accomplish with this web page....any thoughts?
Why, good morning, HB!
Coffee for Bob, Stat!
ok...I wasn't being THAT crabby!!!! however I do need some coffee!
Oh, and welcome back again, Chy.
Yes, thankyew I didn't reply before because I was busy being abused by my wife.
Does she like candid photographs?
I like the raining bananas, Plegmund.
candid photographs he. asked. him. knowingly.
In fact, talking of monkeys (and we always are, being talking monkeys) I am rather interested in the
'punctuated' evolution in the human genome
which apparently implies some rather weird mutations during the ape period of human evolution - concerning the primary cytogenetic difference between apes and humans; human chromosome 2.
I'm sure if I posted this on the front page it would get two comments from people saying "hmm" leading me to slink back to posting about arses and ghosts
cueing mefi fucknards to comment 'best of the web' and snicker only to return to attacking one another over whose ego has top billing this week.
oh yer wicked
plegmund...no apology necessary...sorry, the snark was about the site... it was actually a good fpp for here, and i should have said so! Bob
"a good fpp
. I'd take that the wrong way if I were you, Plgmundo...
Thanks, Bob: no worries, negative feedback is always welcome, anyway (why do I feel I'm going to regret saying that..?) That is interesting stuff, Chy: Stephen Jay Gould would be jumping up and down (if he weren't dead). In other primate-related news, did you know that our status as hominids has effectively been withdrawn? We're
now, in with the former pongids (but the orangs are still pongin, apparently).
OK, read the article. Makes sense to my walnut-sized brain now.
Sorry about that. Nevermind me. Carry on!
dayum. I was enjoying being an hominid.
Never trust a flat faced Kenyan.
...The scientists speculate the molecular driving forces behind "punctuated" duplicative activity may have been changes in transcriptional status or chromatin conformation
Which not only is neat, but also sounds like something from a Gilbert & Sullivan opera. The changes in transcriptional status Has flummoxed homeostasis While chromatin conformation Makes for astounding transformation
It is the very model of an euchromatic duplicon! It is the very model of an euchromatic-matic duplicon!
whether punctuated duplicons or pericentromeric spawns,
for I am an hominid and whatever ye say I might have did I woz calm and did it with grave aplomb my infallible way to fling the poo or drop the bomb is for you to fall flat and me to stay calm
Our primate DNA displays effects of ev-ol-utions We study speciation via sequencing a chimpanzee Whose chromosomal makeup makes us question his phylogeny
Those are great posts, Chy and Pleg. Leaves me more eager than ever to see the evolutionary DNA sequencing on mankind. I hope they can establish the development of even more sub-species, as they did with the
The Orange Monkey
link is still active from the fpp. Meanwhile I'll be hominex.
well done, Chryen! *exits, humming
Actually, Mimi has been in hospital almost constantly for about 4 months. How do I know? I'm her boyfriend, and I have been sorting out the emails and links to the site for most of that time. Any thoughts of what she wanted to accomplish? No great secrets, she had been ill, wasn't able to get around too much and wasn't very proficient with computers, and I suggested to her that she should use some of the photos we had taken in the months previously to make a website. Mimi actually made quite a large update to the site previously, when she had been out of the hospital for a few weks, but the FTP was unavailable for an upload, and I have been unable to process it for her since. All in all, considering she had never actually owned a PC until a month before I convinced her to get started on this little project, I don't think it is that bad, bad, bad, but I'm sure that she's going to really really really appreciate your comments.
I see nothing shameful in any of our comments, Shameonyouall (if that is what your name is implying). One negative, one positive, plus the initial posting which obviously felt it had merit, then a discussion about punctuated evolution followed by a Gilbert and Sullivan pastiche. Pretty standard stuff for here. I quite like the site, it's full of whimsy, and I'm sorry to here Mimi (whover she may be) is ill. I hope she feels better soon. But like I say, nothing really bad was said here, and the site proved to be a jumping off point for interesting and amusing discussion. A good post, by any standards. Have a banana on me, soya.
Apologies for rubbish spelling in above post. It's nearly lunchtime and I'm hungry.
All the best to Mimi and yourself, Shamus (if I may call you that) and good luck with the monkey business. I'm sure no-one here intended to upset or discourage you (Huron Bob is a very nice and sensitive chap once he's had his coffee), and I hope the site at least gained a few extra hits from Mofi visitors and lurkers.
Yes, well I thankyou for these last few comments. I am sure you can appreciate that I was a bit taken aback to come across what seemed like quite harsh judgement for a site that is not yet completed, was a first attempt at making a website, was only made to make people smile - by a young girl who is not very well at the moment. I thought that all people that apreciated monkeys could be nothing BUT smiley happy folks, even pre-morning coffee. I wish your site well
Oh, and the page was actually started last July and was last updated on May 24th, which was coincidentally Monkey's birthday, but Mimi had to leave again before she finishes all she wanted to do and so never got around to doing the front page, so the 3 months thing is actually incorrect. I just wanted to set the record straight.
It's too late - you've joined the monkey army know. You can never leave.
*crack of lightening / whinny of frightened horse*
Without intending to bring shame upon us, does anybody else see a parallel with
shame on you.
*crawls under rock*
*lifts rock and points at fish tick, wearing shit-eating grin*
*flings poo for kitfisto to eat*
*makes a fish tick poo butty, tucks right in.* Yum.
*picks sweetcorn from between teeth*
Yeah, so I won't have to spend money for lunch today. That's nice.
I like the
Glad to be of service
*licks fish tick's nose to try and wake him, breathing heavily*
*explains gender misapprehension to kitfisto prior to dousing him with icewater*
Can we have some pictures of Mimi? You know... with her tits out?
I'm sorry. *holds out slice of bread and butter hopefully*
Unless that's the reason she's ill.. cos.. that might not be very nice. Bum's ok. In fact I would prefer a bum. Hmmm. Maybe we should have a vote on it.
*crack of lightening / whinny of frightened horse*
A flash of thigh?
Poo in your eye.
u sic fux
Am I too late for my serving of shame?
Bite of kitfisto's butty?
Ooh, is that Marmite?
Squeegee required in cubicle 28!
"Huron Bob is a very nice and sensitive chap once he's had his coffee" Not true, I'm a royal pain in the ass all the time! Was anyone confused (as I was) on the "she's my girlfriend" comment in one case and the "young girl" comment in another post...... just saying.....
Young, as in early 20's ...you seem very easily confused...
I don't really believe you have it in you to be a royal pain in the ass, Bob: but apologies to you again, and to everyone whose niceness, sensitivity, and other qualities I may have misrepresented.
Have I just been called a wanker?
