Bobs Dune Buggies
  • These are amazing, especially the early models. This guy had one fun childhood from the sound of things. Interesting how back in the 60s nobody gave a damn about the damage done to those fragile dunes (as photographed pretty dramatically here). Still, the grease-monkey kid in me enjoyed the site immensely!
  • Even though I didn't grow up near the beach, where I did grow up had plenty of sand. My pop owned a couple of Jeeps which we would drive out to all kinds of difficult spots in the desert. I likewise remember my dad striping the hood off of abandoned cars out in the desert and we would go sand sleding up and down the dunes. Those were cool times.
  • this is really fun! the closest i got to a dune buggy was my brother's Matchbox dune buggy. heh.
  • That was one SWEET link. I hope everyone dig around to find the part where they found the remains of their dad's original dune buggy and then rebuilt it. AWESOME. just in case
