Completing the circle
It started here, went on to here, which didn't satisfy the parties involved, so it went here, quicky followed by here. To complete the circle, it was important to include our MonkeyFilter brethren in the game, so here we are. Everyone happy now?
-
Looks like someone beat you to '48. Heh. Also, no. I read MetaTalk for drama, of which there was not enough.
-
Bugger! I noted the URL of the previous comment and forgot to subtract 1 from it. Idiot.
-
Ok, good, I'm gettin' all paranoid about Austin meetup threads anyway, I didn't need weirdo metametameta drama thrown in.
-
I prefer goat cheese.
-
?
-
Goat cheese is good. Have you tried the head cheese?
-
not happy, but momentarily amused
-
I don't understand. What has this argument got to do with us Monkeys again? *scratches head* Are amberglow and jenleigh living there as well?
-
I saw the drama, but like Alnedra I'm not seeing the point.
-
there is no point it's just a demonstration of futility illustrated over and underestimatioins run amok
-
*putting the extra i in estimations, illustrated*
-
The circle is complete. When I left you, I was but a burning torso, now, I am the cheese master. And Kosher.
-
I used get confused remembering which thread on MeFi I was looking. These days I am getting totally braindrained knowing which damn site at which I was being [happy] [outraged] [empathetic] [curious] (please tick box).
-
summary: "I am not an unwitting pawn of my chosen media" vs "I'm over estimating for safety and it's my right to have an opinion and speculate as I please" lots of booze and media talk interspersed with people randomly or not so randomly picking sides and i am an orphan or wandering nomad, i can't tell which but no, it's not monkey related except for watching the primate dance
-
this thread is a tidy little chronicle, though and the endless loops and tangents off it can keep you spinning for hours
-
i like goats.
-
Someone needs to die. I don't care who.
-
I was all in favor of whatever it was you were talking about until you mentioned MeFi and then suddenly I just don't care.
-
Only the metachat & monkeyfilter links work - what a surprise.
-
admin please hope us
-
This post has to go. We talk about MeFi too much, and it never goes well.
-
FPPs on MeFi about MoFi get deleted... no offence dg, just trying to complete the circle
-
Gaw-DAYUM! How many websites do you guys need for this circle-jerk anyway?
-
Like mirrors in a funhouse, so go the days of our lives...
-
Someone needs to die. I don't care who. Would you care to elaborate? *snicker*
-
I mean, seriously
-
FPPs on MeFi about MoFi get deleted... Insert the words "should always" and put some <strong> tags around it, and you're dead on. I do love me some trainwrecks, though.
-
That came off harsher than I'd intended. No offense, dg. You da man/woman/gelatinous life form/whatever.
-
I'm stumped.
-
dg: wtf?
-
Oh, yes, baby. This makes me feel soooooo goooood: MonkeyFilter: We talk about MeFi too much, and it never goes well.
-
Monkeyfilter: Have you tried the head cheese?
-
I am he (as you are he); as you are me, and we are all together. See how they run like pigs from a gun. See how they fly... I’m crying. Sitting on a cornflake waiting for the van to come. Corporation tee-shirt {stupid bloody Tuesday} - Man, you been a naughty boy. You let your face grow long. Iamtheeggmantheyaretheeggmen I AM THE WALRUS, GOO GOO G'JOOB!!!
-
I'm not happy. Of course, that has nothing to do with any of these threads.
-
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
-
i think i need to post a diary to kuro5hin about this ...
-
It's kind of like that whole angry_modem thing ages ago, and I think we all learned a valuable lesson there that Jenleigh is just discovering. Has it all blown over yet?
-
How hard would it be to work up the code so that whenever anyone links to MeFi, the post is automatically deleted?
-
Deletion is too light. Their accounts should be blocked, their service providers notified of abuse, all incoming requests from their IPs redirected to tubgirl.com, their email addressed subscribed to everything on the internets, their computers stealth-nuked from space, and (optionally) their kittens un-neutered.
-
it is so over and let it be a caution for anyone taking themselves or any site too seriously more catfight running commentary! where's smith?
-
If I had to produce a performance of "Hamlet" starring a cereal mascot, I think that I would go with Count Chocula.
-
Bullshit. Frankenberry has it over Chocula for sheer pathos. That mother can emote. Boo-Berry would of course be Hamlet's father.
-
L.C. (Lucky) Leprechaun would be Hamlet's trusted friend Horatio. There's not really enough female talent in the breakfast cereal pool, so I might go to the dairy aisle for my Ophelia - maybe the Land O'Lakes maiden.
-
no way. Mrs. Butterworth. give the old gal a try she's a swooner
-
Why not do it the old-fashioned way? Get a male masct and dump a couple of bunched-up hankies into his shirt.
-
There really are very few female cereal mascots. What could be the reason for that? Don't little girls eat cereal, too? What about that King Vitamin guy? He looks like Hamlet.
-
"Count Choculitis... Why did you write that down, Jim? Is it because you know I love Count Chocula?"
-
Well, Sonny "koo-koo for Cocoa Puffs" in drag would be good for Ophelia, but only after she loses her mind.
-
I think the Trix Rabbit is far more natural as Hamlet.
-
Nice call, mct. I thought about Sonny, but I think that he is not stable enough. While he might be effective for when she loses her mind, he might just lose it on his own before that. I mean, after all, the guy is cuckoo. Now, what about the Trix rabbit? I always thought he was a woman anyway.
-
Ah, the Trix rabbit does indeed look good in drag.
-
The Fruit Brute looks (ok, looked) even better in drag. Go figure.
-
How about those three weird guys: Snap, Crackle, and Pop-Daddy?
