Homebuilt Bicycles: What Will White People Think Of Next?
-
Paul Keen from Adelaide Australia built this nifty front wheel drive recumbent in eight hours for less than $100. You can check out his site at www.users.bigpond.com/pekay/recum.htm. So, peacay - any relation? If so... 8 hours? Man. Nice work. There's a group of bike customizers out here who seem to be into jousting - building very tall bikes and then trying to knock each other off of them using padded broomsticks. Very strange, but building the bikes looks like fun.

My next-door neighbor's father removed the wheels from a bicycle when I was young, and attached some sort of plastic flat pieces to the places where the wheels would go. Then he put giant handlebars and a banana seat on it. The idea was that you would be able to ride it down a hill in the snow like a sled. It was not able to be self-propelled. It didn't really work out so well. I think that if someone attempted the same thing today that the Department of Social Services would take custody of the man's child.

Take these a step (or two) further and you have kinetic sculpture. Nice link, peacay.

"And no...I have no link"......meaning: to the site or the people or the psychiatric flavour.
