juliette and the licks Hedwig and the Angry InchJuliette Lewis has a new album out. (annoying music warning)
  • Hey my roommate saw her sitting at the bar where he works the other day. Er, it was exciting.
  • Well, that's unfortunate. She played a writhing, abandoned, degenerate band-frontperson in Strange Days and made it a lot more convincing to look at and listen to than she appears to have done in real life.
  • I just wanted to listen to a bit of a song or so, but it seems that I have to shell out .99 to even give her music a chance. Full disclosure: I do find her sexy in a red neck, having sex with your cousin kind of way.
  • At least she's no longer stuck in the bottomless pit of despair and apathy. (I'm tempted to say she's migrated to the bottomless pit of the inability to accurately assess one's own qualifications to be a rockstar. But at least she won't be lonely...)
  • I find her sexy, period, and a very interesting actress. How many other's can you think of of that age who took on such crazy, murderous roles (Kalifornia, Natural Born Killers). She has an interesting and long filmography. I had forgotten she was in What's Eating Gilbert Grape? Great film. Leonardo DiCaprio is another young actor who tends to draw a similar response or at least equal disdain. He was absolutely stunning in What's Eating Gilbert Grape. And, eh, it's punk music. I've heard much, much worse.
  • I concur- I think she's interesting enough that I'm surprised there's nothing better to say about the music but that we've heard worse. The amount that I've had to say about this tonight, however, suggests to me that I should find something to do besides sit in front of a computer, even if it DOES mean going to bed.
  • Yeesh. She annoys the hell out of me.
  • Pretty good in Cape Fear.
  • For the love of God- someone help me- I CANNOT GO TO BED. I am helpless to stop surfing the Internet. And I've already seen all the good parts.
  • She's kind of freaky, but a good actress. I enjoy the parts she has chosen. LOVED Kalifornia!
  • this makes me nostalgic for Keanu Reeves' Dogstar.
  • I'm surprised at the Scientology. I would have figured she'd go for a less Starbucks-style cult. Me, I went all retro and hung out with the Krishnas.
  • I like it.
  • I too find her to be both ugly and yet strangely attractive. So do most of my male chums. I have no desire to here her sing, though.
  • At the risk of offending all punk fans, it seems to me that the "quality" of punk is directly related to how cool the band appears or acts. As she is a millionaire actress, she can't possibly be cool to anyone who is a punk fan. I think she is a wonderful actress. I found her to be excellent in Husbands and Wives.
  • I both dislike and admire her. Is she capable of playing a role that isn't "edgy" or "quirky", or is her natural weirdness too strong? In Strange Days she had the distinct advantage of having PJ Harvey write and perform the music, which she does not have here.
  • It is hard to tell if her weirdness is too strong. Hollywood is not very interested in giving an unusual looking actress lead roles, unless she is playing a wacky character. Hollywood actresses play roles that represent 100 or so percent of women, but are played by actresses with looks that cover 1-2 percent of all women.
